Universe Today (often abbreviated to UT)is a space and astronomy news site and was founded by Fraser Cain. Universe Today provides summarised news via RSS, email, syndication and on the home page. The news can then be discussed on the Universe Today forum.
Forum
The Universe Today forum was begun on the 24th of July 2003, and was powered by Invision Power Board. The forum was a place to discuss the Universe Today news. Also it was a place to ask space-related questions and discuss alternate theories. Members were also allowed to post astrophotos.
Early September 2005 the forums of Universe Today and Bad Astronomy combined to form the BAUT Forum. The combined forum made for a very large and active community.

UniverseToday.org is the home of Return to the Moon. Return to the Moon is a site that documents information about NASA's intention to return humans to the surface of the moon. This will be a step on from the Apollo missions in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Since Apollo 17 which visited the moon in December of 1972 there has not been a human presence. NASA intends to change this in the year 2018 when it intends to send a group of astronauts back there with a view to establishing a permanent presence on the Lunar surface. The overall goal of this will be to pave the way to a manned mission to the Red Planet - Mars...
