Achna (Template:Lang-el Template:Lang-tr), is a village in Cyprus in the Famagusta District, just North of the United Nations Buffer Zone. After the conflict in 1974, the displaced residents built a new village south of the old location.
Achna is well known for its football club Ethnikos Achna FC, that won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2006. In 2001 the number of inhabitants was 1,952.
History
The inhabitants built a provisional village of tents in the Achna forest (Dasaki tis Achnas), some hundred meters away from their old village, and started later to build a new village, Dasaki Achnas, near the old location, within the confines of the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area
