Edgar Lungu is a Zambian politician. He serves as the Zambian Minister of Defence.

Biography

He serves as the Zambian Minister of Defence. He is also the Secretary General of the Patriotic Front political party in power.

On November 3, 2014, interim Zambian President Guy Scott dismissed his as Secretary General of Patriotic Front. He replaced him with Davies Mwila, the Member of Parliament for Chipili. The Zambian Watchdog had suggested Lungu was ill and did not want to run for President; the information was denied shortly after by the party's media spokesperson. However, the next day, on November 4, 2014, President Scott announced Lungu was to remain as Secretary General.
