Wispolitics.com flickr images
I see that wispolitics.com has a flickr photostream and everything that I checked had a free use license. I added one of their images of Mary Burke. Does anyone else who knows more about politics want to check through the photos and copy some to Commons for using here on the English Misplaced Pages? Lots of images don't have the person listed or just lists their last name. Royalbroil 02:53, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Suspicious County Seals
I noticed a bunch of County seals are being added to WI and IL counties by two SPA's. For Example, Langlade County, Wisconsin, File:Seal of Langlade County Wisconsin.svg. Their similarity and duplication of state seals makes me wonder if they are legitimate. See the seals for Illinois and Wisconsin . Does anyone know if these are legitimate, vandalism or otherwise? --Dual Freq (talk) 22:09, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
- I removed the seals added for WI counties on Dec 28th since they appear to be self made and I can not find evidence that they are official seals in actual use by the counties in question. I appreciate the creativity, but I don't think wikipedia should be presenting these as official county seals when there is no cited evidence of this. --Dual Freq (talk) 03:02, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
- Is there a reason to delete the files at Commons? I'm an admin there. Royalbroil 02:16, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- They made hundreds for several states, WI, IL, NY, IN, MI and NJ to name a few I've seen. I posted a question to c:Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard#User-Made_US_County_Seals, but no one responded. I would think that at a minimum the images should clearly say they are the someone's own work and that they are derivatives of the state seal. Maybe there is some commons bot that can add that to the image descriptions. --Dual Freq (talk) 02:21, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

If you knew anything about state seals, you would know that a great many are just what you call "derivatives of the state seal." Go do some research instead of unproductive vandalism. --Mr. Joshua Lyman (talk) 09:09, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- You need to provide a source for each seal and citations that shows that these are real seals. If you are copying these out of a book, then cite it. --Dual Freq (talk) 14:30, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
The reason they are suspicious is some do not match seals found elsewhere. File:Seal of Eau Claire County Wisconsin.svg differs from the one they use on their documents: http://www.co.eau-claire.wi.us/home/showdocument?id=4024 Also some of your other seals do not match as well, File:Seal of Cape May County New Jersey.svg http://www.capemaycountygov.net/index.cfm --Dual Freq (talk) 14:46, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- the seal at http://www.racineco.com/ does not match File:Seal of Racine County Wisconsin.svg either, this is why I consider them all suspicious. --Dual Freq (talk) 14:57, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
There is a deletion discussion at Commons which is found here. Royalbroil 05:40, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
I've added more of these suspicious seals at c:Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Pittsburgh Sealer. The Sealer and Mr. Lyman accounts were created the same day and their uploads are only these suspicious county seals that all come from the state seal. --Dual Freq (talk) 23:05, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Help with (Wisconsin political figure) Reince Priebus
Hi all, I'm looking for help on the article for Wisconsinite Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus. An editor over at WikiProject Biography's politics and government work group suggested that editors here might be able to help.
Briefly, the article needs some updating to add detail about his career prior to becoming chair of the RNC, and to cover details of his tenure as chair. One key example: there's currently no mention of his previous role as chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party in the article.
On the article's Talk page, I've proposed some initial updates and corrections. While some have been made in the article, editors who assisted have not returned to look at the suggestions for the Career section. To be fully transparent, I should disclose that I'm working as a consultant to the RNC and due to that financial conflict of interest won't make any direct edits to the article. Instead, I'm proposing these updates for editors to review and make changes as appropriate. Can anyone from this WikiProject assist? Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 19:15, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- Pinging here to see if anyone can help. Although the details about his previous political roles have now been added, there are a few remaining edits I'm asking about for the Career section of the article and I've just offered some new suggestions for the RNC chairman section. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes a look. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 22:17, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
