I often come across as a pretentious bastard. I often am a pretentious bastard, depending on the subject being discussed. Being open-minded is one thing; throwing one's shutters wide and letting all manners of rubbish blow in is quite another. There are some universal truths, and I stick to them. I have no qualms whatsoever about telling people off when they are demonstrably wrong, and I expect people to return this courtesy.

I run Gentoo and Arch Linux on my server and laptop, respectively. I personally have difficulties understanding why the masses appear to favour convenience over actual security and functionality, but fair do.
