Republic TV is an upcoming English-language news and current affairs television channel based in Mumbai, India. The channel is said to be launched by Arnab Goswami sometime in March or April. Republic TV will be a global media venture.
History
Arnab Goswami, then Editor-in-Chief of a 24-hour English news channel Times Now, resigned from the channel on 1 November 2016. On 18 November 2016, Goswami for the last time hosted The Newshour debate. On 16 December 2016, Goswami announced that he is coming up with his new venture, a News Channel called Republic TV. The channel will be based out of Mumbai and is scheduled to be launched before the crucial Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2017.
