The valley is situated on the LOC(line of control) that separates Azad Kashmir from Indian administered Kashmir. It is situated 17 km in the north of Bhimber and 30 km in the north of Mirpur district of Ajk and extremely rich in natural beauty. It is 35 km long and about 8 km in width.it has a high rate of literacy. The ancient fort of Baghsar is also built in Samahni near Baghsar Lake.The valley is covered with beautiful mountains. The local time zone is named "Asia/Karachi" with a UTC offset of 5 hours.
CHAHI is a scenic and pollution-free valley in Azad Kashmir surrounded by mountains covered in pine trees. Most of the inhabitants speak Pahari, with some Punjabi influence. Urdu is still spoken and understood among the villagers.

- Jandi Chontra, about 1000 meters above sea level, a scenic spot that is an eastern gateway to Samani valley

- Baba Shadi Shaheed, shrine for a 16th-century ruler Shadab Khan, descendant of the Chib dynasty in Bhimber.

Town Chowki is a famous and centre Town of tehsil samahni.Chowki is the business centre of Samahni.
poona is a famous Town of tehsil samahni. poona is a second largest UC of valley samahni. poona is very beautiful Town. It is the Business centre of valley samahni. Horran,Kotla,Ghotan sandar, Tandar, bhemla, Bians, Sarnela, Potha, nambla and chahwla are surrounding areas of poona. Many great personalities are belong to poona. Ch Muhammad Rashid (late) former Minister of ajk. he was also the advisor of benazir bhutto for kashmir affairs. others personalities who belong to poona are ch Akram (late) Haji ibrahim, ch Bashir etc. Ch Muhammad Razzaq vice president of PTI ajk is also belong to poona. he is a brother of great leader ch Muhammad Rashid. He is very famous personality in ajk & a great politician. he always think about the people of valey samahni.
