Covasna is a Romanian county (Judeţ) in the Transylvania region, with the capital city at Sepsiszentgyörgy, known in Romanian as Sfântu Gheorghe (population: 67,108). Its common abbreviation is CV.
Demographics
In 2000, it had a population of 231,172 and the population density was 62/km². According to the latest national census (2002), the major ethnic groups in the county are: Hungarians (73.8%), Romanians (23.3%) and Gypsies (2.7%).
