While Dick is a time-honoured contraction of the name Richard, it is also an euphemism for penis, and in modern times it is frequently used as an insult.

A contemptible or stupid person is often referred to as a 'dickhead', although usually not in their hearing!

Dick is also a slang term used to refer to a private investigator or detective. Anyone know the etymology of this?
