• January 1
  • After past six years of broadcasting in the Philippines, Disney XD has ceased its operations by The Walt Disney Company across Southeast Asia due to the upcoming launch of Disney+ in the region. Following the closure, its channel space on Cignal was replaced by ABS-CBN Corporation-owned lifestyle channel Metro Channel three days later.
  • Sky Cable terminated GINX Esports TV and Stingray Classica on its line-up due to the expiration of Sky's contract with the said networks. GINX Esports TV continued to air via G Sat and Cignal under distribution by Mediahouse/Club TV and SES, while Stingray Classica continued to air on G Sat and selected provincial cable operators nationwide.
• January 2 – Cignal TV terminated eight Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific (a subsidiary of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International) pay TV channels: Channel V, Fox Crime, Fox Family Movies, Fox News Channel, FX, Fox Sports 3, Nat Geo People and Star Chinese Channel, on its line-up due to the expiration of Cignal's contract with the company. Meanwhile, ten Disney/Fox channels continued to air on their line-up.

  • Cignal TV launched eleven pay TV channels on their line-up: Aniplus, Blue Ant Extreme, Jeepney TV, Knowledge Channel, K-Plus, Metro Channel, Nick Jr., Paramount Network (branded from Paramount Channel prior to the announced February 1 rebrand), TAP Edge, TAP Sports and Telenovela Channel.
  • Maki Pulido and Atom Araullo assumed as a permanent co-presenter duties for the GMA News TV late night newscast State of the Nation, replacing Jessica Soho.
• January 21
  • CNN Philippines, TAP Edge and TAP TV aired the special coverage (via CNN International and NBC News) of the Inauguration of Joe Biden live from Washington, D.C.
  • ABS-CBN Corporation and MediaQuest Holdings (TV5 Network, Inc. and Cignal TV), in collaboration with Brightlight Productions, annnounced a partnership agreement to air selected ABS-CBN shows and movies on Channel 5 (TV5's owned TV frequency) beginning on January 24.

• February 20 - Sky Cable will terminate Life TV on its line-up due to the expiration of Sky's contract with the network. Meanwhile, the network continued to air via BEAM TV.
• February 28 - GMA News TV will celebrate its 10th year anniversary on Philippine television. It introduced originally on channel 11 during its first 8 years of operation, but they eventually moved to channel 27 in June 2019.

• June 13 - ABS-CBN Corporation will celebrate its 75th anniversary of corporate formation.
