He is better known as Richie Ramone. He joined the Ramones in 1983 after second drummer Marky Ramone was forced to leave due to his alcoholism. Richie left the band when Marky recovered in 1988.
Richie features on the albums To Tough To Die, Animal Boy and Halfway To Sanity. He also wrote the classic Ramones song Somebody Put Something In My Drink which is based on an actual event that happened to him.
Richie attened former bandmate Joey Ramones funeral when he passed away on April 15, 2001 from cancer, even though he was told several times not to go. He had been estranged from the other Ramones for years before this. He also features in the Ramones documentary End Of The Century: The Story Of The Ramones.
