Gantz

Hi

Gantz hold the office of Vice Prime Minister. Please see the Jerusalem Post. --Panam2014 (talk) 08:12, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

@Panam2014: No he isn't. Please see sources here. Rami R 08:16, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
So why some sources wrote that Gantz is VPM? Also, for GB we have First Secretary of State and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom we need some articles. --Panam2014 (talk) 08:19, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Because reporters are sometimes lazy. The Knesset list him as alternate prime minister: . This is a new post, defined by law in the recently modified Basic Law: The Knesset, named in hebrew rosh hamemshala hahalufi (lit alternate prime minister), which is different from Mishneh rosh hamemshala (what we call here on wikipedia for some reason "vice prime minister"). Rami R 08:25, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. It is clear now. So I think we need distincts articles for Deputy Prime Minister and Vice Prime Minister. The both are official too or not? When the basic law have been changed? --Panam2014 (talk) 08:29, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
I think (I need to look this up) that Deputy is an official ceremonial title (which can be held concurrently by several ministers, if memory serves correct), while Vice is an unofficial title. Since these titles are essentially meaningless (unlike the new alternate post, and the older prime minister designate post), most Israelis don't think about them too much. Rami R 08:38, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

I think we should create an article for Acting PM of Israel because the office have been created for the 1986 rotative government. For Deputy Prime Minister, the office still exist in the current basic law or not? As official office, it should be created too. --Panam2014 (talk) 06:27, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

I personally wouldn't invest too much effort for what is ultimately a meaningless title, even if it's an official one - section 5(e) of the Basic Law:The Government "A Minister may be Deputy Prime Minister" (while this English translation of the law is outdated, this section still exists in the current law). But feel free to create the articles. Rami R 06:45, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Removal of Madad Kan poll

Hi Rami. I saw that you deleted the Madad Kan poll of March 13th, and cited the reason as being because it's "an aggregate of polls". However, the article I provided explicitly says that this is not the case. Here is a direct quote:

"It is not based on the averages of the other polls, but based on calculations which take additional factors into account as well".

I am restoring the poll to ensure accuracy. Selectively omitting polls would be detrimental to readers who are looking to get a complete and accurate view of the upcoming elections polling.

I look forward to having a dialog with you about this on the article talk page if you wish.

Thank you Eatabullet (talk) 07:51, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

An accurate view of election polling means showing only actual polling. Anyway, I have made my case on the talk page. Rami R 10:00, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
