- Comment: Repeatedly resubmitted without improvement. A large portion of the sources are blogs and other unreliable sources. The sources fail to indicate notability. Eternal Shadow Talk 22:11, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: No major improvements since the last decline. Large parts of the article remain unsourced or sourced to social media and forums, which are not reliable. The sources used need to prove that the subject is notable under Misplaced Pages's guidelines. Please avoid resubmitting the article until these issues are resolved. IceWelder [✉] 19:21, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: You have not changed much since last time minus cleaning up the refs but leaving them largely unchanged and adding a section about Mario's Mystery Meat (?) which doesn't really help with the notability. You may try again, but you may want to consider the fact that the subject may not be notable (considering the draft has been declined 4 times and the article has been previously deleted 3 separate times.) Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 16:11, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: It's insanely hard for online personalities to pass notability guidelines, so much so that even some extremely well known people have either had their articles challenged or outright deleted despite having very large fandoms. Two great examples of this are PewDiePie and Dan Avidan. PDP didn't pass notability guidelines until a bit after he became the most subscribed channel on YT and up to that point, had his article repeatedly removed. Dan's article was challenged as it was argued that he wasn't independently notable of GG and it was a bit of a fight for it to be kept despite him also being part of two notable musical groups. To establish notability what you need is coverage in places like newspaper articles or websites that would be considered reliable. Since this group does video game related work, it would need to be sites considered reliable per WP:VG/RS for the most part, although if reliable source outlets like Pitchfork have reviewed their work then that'd be considered usable as well. Popularity doesn't give notability and is just considered to be a sign that there could be sourcing to establish notability, but large followings by themselves isn't considered notability granting. It's often why there can be so many channels on List of most-subscribed YouTube channels without articles, as there are always more media personalities to be covered than there are places that will cover them. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 10:36, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: Not a single one of these references are reliable, independent, or significant coverage. Websites for his own events are not independent; Steam groups, forums and twitter are not reliable. WHOIS and twitch statistics sites are just databases. Spicy (talk) 16:37, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: Right now there are so many junk references that it is difficult to assess notability. If you want to try again (which may well be a waste of time) please reduce the references in this article to only THE MOST HIGH-QUALITY RELIABLE REFERENCES (also reducing the corresponding text so it's only facts that appear in these high-quality reliable references) and resubmit. Calliopejen1 (talk) 06:35, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Comment: Social media, reddit and blog sites are not reliable. The article also needs to be heavily cleaned up and formatted like a proper wiki article. Please see WP:MOS Sulfurboy (talk) 04:10, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

Vinesauce, sometimes stylized as vinesauce and also known as Vinesauce Vidya, is a group of online variety streamers that was formed on May 11, 2010, by Vinny Franzetti. The group focuses on a variety of video games (as opposed to competitive playing) as well as a culture of mature humor and inside jokes. Vinesauce has no streaming schedule, and streamers play at whatever time they feel comfortable. They also have a YouTube channel, where both stream clips and full unedited streams are uploaded.
Career
History
Beginning (2010)
Before Vinesauce's communal formation, Franzetti started out with a YouTube channel. He uploaded small recordings of video games and amateur band recordings.
Logo and naming
The Vinesauce logo is a green cartoon mushroom, in the style of the mushroom powerup in the Mario series. The cap of the mushroom is a green-yellow gradient. In place of the middle white circle is a "V", representing the first letter of "Vinesauce". The white stem of the mushroom has a face, with a smiling mouth and green eyes.
The name "Vinesauce" is a combination of "Vinny" and "sauce". Franzetti stated that he chose "sauce" because "it's a fun word".
Data leak and hack (2015)
On November 4, 2015, Vargskelethor's YouTube and Twitch channels became compromised from a password leak. His YouTube channel's avatar and background were changed, and 3 videos were uploaded. Later, all prior videos uploaded became private. On his Twitch channel, many subscribers were banned. Vargskelethor regained control on November 10, 2015.
Twitch ban (2020)
On December 3, 2020, Franzetti was temporarily suspended for 72 hours from Twitch for accidental nudity.
Controversy
In early April 2021, Franzetti was falsely accused of sexual misconduct, resulting in him taking legal action and #IStandWithVinny trending on Twitter.

Philanthropy
Vinesauce is HOPE (sometimes abbreviated to "ViH") is a charity stream which raises money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF). It has been ran every year since 2014, and is managed by the 501(c)(3) organization "Variety for HOPE". Hootey, a former Vinesauce streamer and associate, currently directs and plans the charity stream.
It is a streaming event where various Vinesauce streamers play games, battle in competitions, and engage with the community to fundraise.
After the event, the resulting videos are uploaded to the "Variety for HOPE" YouTube channel.
2014
The first charity stream went live on July 26, 2014, at 6:00 AM EST, and it lasted for 2 days. The stream began fundraising with a goal of $5,000 USD. At the end of the event, $24,663.00 USD was donated in total, exceeding the goal.
2015
The second stream went live on July 11, 2015, at 8:00 AM EST. It happened over 22 hours; about 1 day. The fundraising goal was set at US$10,000. In addition to donations, the 2015 stream also sold merchandise such as plush mushrooms and Vinesauce-branded T-shirts which were created by volunteers; the funds gathered from sales were directed to the fundraising goal. At the end of the event, US$56,405 was raised in total.
2016
The third stream took place beginning on July 23, 2016, starting at 6:00 AM EST. Unlike previous streams, there was no fixed goal. Instead, there was a "donation tier list". At the end, $108,209.25 was raised in total, surpassing the $100,000 mark.
2017
The fourth stream began on July 21, 2017, at 12:00 PM EST. Like the previous 2016 stream, there was no donation goal; instead focusing on donation incentives. However, unlike the 2016 stream, this one lasted for 3 days instead of 2 or 1. At the end of the event, $137,366.00 was raised in total.
2018
The fifth charity stream started on July 20, 2018, at 10:00 AM EST. Like the previous 2017 event, It lasted for 3 days, and along with it brought many changes. For 2018, Vinesauce is HOPE published a "magazine" to showcase and promote the charity as well as the Vinesauce community.
ViH 2018 also started an art contest, where the best picks would be showcased in the stream's self-published magazine.
Prior to the stream
Prior to the stream, a 28-page information hand-out was published. In it, viewers were polled about gaming subjects, like "Favorite Gaming Memory" or "Favorite Video Game Genre". The magazine also detailed how the charity impacts and helps the PCRF. Statistics were given about previous streams, such as the amount of viewers, total money raised, art submissions, etc. A crossword puzzle was included, along with various chosen art submissions from the art contest held days before the event.
At the end of the event, $181,902 was raised in total.
2019
The sixth charity stream began on July 19, 2019, at 9:30 AM EST. It had many similarities to the 2018 stream; 3 day long schedule, a magazine-style information pamphlet. That year, Vinesauce had partnered with chrono.gg and Fangamer to further raise funds for the PCRF.
There was no donation goal, nor any donation tier. Instead, art contest prizes were the main motivation for fundraising. At the end, the combined total raised was $210,338.
Prior to the stream
Similar to the 2018 stream, a hand-out was compiled and released to the community on the Vinesauce is Hope website, similar in manner to the one given out during the 2018 stream. Being 15 pages long, it listed:
- Winning submissions from the art contest
- Polling results from the community
- Details on charity work
- Interviews with Vinesauce streamers
- Food recipes
"Heckraiser"
During October 2019, "Heckraiser" was announced as a second charity stream, intended to be oriented towards horror games and Halloween-themed events. A two-day event over the weekend, it was held from October 26, 2019, to October 27, 2019.
At the end of the event, $10,702 was raised.
2020
The seventh stream was announced and planned to be held for July 17, 2020 to July 19, 2020. Keeping with the tradition of the three previous streams, an accompanying informational advertisement (labelled as an "event manual") with interviews, polls, etc. was available for download on the charity's website. Vinesauce-themed merchandise and shirts were purchasable from a Fangamer page.
The event was later revealed to have raised a total of $256,515.

It also includes references to pop culture and Will Smith.
Plot
The game's plot primarily involves the Vinesauce fan character Sponge getting meat for Mario and Luigi's spaghetti. Sponge is then swallowed by Meat, a creature inspired by a British 1999 MSN commercial. Sponge travels through Meat's stomach, encountering various worlds the creature had devoured. In the end, it is revealed that Mario and Luigi cannot even eat meat, making Sponge's quest pointless.
