Hello, John Hill. You have new messages at Talk:Tibetan culture. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Any reason for removing the recently added section on talk page of history of Christianity in India?
Can you tell me genuinely that why did you remove that section from history of Christianity in India talk page? Was it in any way violating any Misplaced Pages rules? Or you are one of those fundamentalist Christians who want to prove Christianity reached India by 52 AD while there is no evidence for it?
And why should Tibet be free? Why not Alaska and Hawaii be free? You should know that days of western supremacy are now going down fast and there is no need for the non-western world to accept biased western point of view of looking at things. Time has come to question each and everything which western people have imposed on others. We also question American intervention in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, role of US govt in creating ISIS and atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki because we do not believe the American story that it was necessary to stop the war because the war ended anyway.

Insertion of photos of your father
Please do not put photos of your father into random articles. There is no historical context for these, basically they are spam. - Ahunt (talk) 22:56, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- I wondered when I uploaded this photo whether it would be acceptable, but I thought it was of historical interest (as there are almost no other photos available of the medical rescues service provided by the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II). I would appreciate your advice as to whether this photo should be used at all (and, if so, in which articles?). Perhaps is I removed his name from the caption it would be acceptable? Whatever, i will look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, John Hill (talk) 23:08, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Editing difficulties
Your recent edit to Talk:Wenten Rubuntja contains a number of issues:
- You removed numerous WikiProject banners.
- You substituted rather than transcluded the page Misplaced Pages:Content assessment/Start-Class criteria
- You changed the rating from stub to start, when the article is in fact a stub. See Template:Grading scheme for documentation on article ratings.
I have reverted your changes. No further action is needed. Please avoid making changes to templates until you are more familiar with Wiki markup. Feel free to contact me via {{ping|Daask}}
or ask at the Tea House if you have any questions. Daask (talk) 18:07, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Of decade-old edits and incorrect citations
I noticed something about an edit you made in 2009 to the article Death. The book is said to have been published in 1998, but your shortened footnote says 1999. I take it the 1999 date is supposed to be 1998? (While we're here, what page did you get the citation from?) Thank you. -BRAINULATOR9 (TALK) 20:39, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for picking up on this ancient error You are probably right that the book was originally published in 1989 and I made a mistake. I am sorry - I cannot check this, or where the quote came from now. as the book has been packed into a box somewhere and I am now bedridden. Please make corrections as you see fit. All my very best wishes, John Hill (talk) 01:08, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

Reconstruction?
Hello John Hill. I've reverted your good faith additions of images to Clothing in ancient Rome; the clothing they show is evidently inspired by Roman womens' dress (up to a point - though to Roman eyes, they'd be half naked - what, no tunic??) but it's very misleading to call any of what's shown a "reconstruction". For that, you'd need to go to any of the illustrated sources used in the article; for copyright reasons, very few of those can be used in the Misplaced Pages article, apart from some of the oldest woodcuts, many of which are based (like the images you posted) on statuary and wall-paintings, not "real" clothing.
We can't use the images you added - not even at the end of the article - because as reconstructions they're simply not up to a scholarly standard or authorship. If the captions were more accurately informative, it might have helped. I tried an enlargement to test the readability of the placards next to the exhibits, but none were clear to me (I don't read chinese and besides, things got a bit fuzzy at high magnification). Even so, nice to meet you. Haploidavey (talk) 05:55, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
I see from your user-page that you've published your work on the Rome-China silk road; an endlessly fascinating subject. I'm presuming that the exhibits shown in Taiwan (originating in Firenze) have something to do with that? I'm happy to be utterly wrong on this point. Haploidavey (talk) 06:24, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note at my talk-page. No pressure; take your time. I gather things have been difficult for you of late. Haploidavey (talk) 08:08, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hiya, I've answered at my talk-page. Haploidavey (talk) 06:35, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Manali
Hi. You've uploaded a number of pictures from "Manali, India", but the captions/images descriptions don't specify which Manali this is. Examples include this one and this one. I'm almost certain that this has to be Manali, Himachal Pradesh, but could you confirm this just to be sure? Lennart97 (talk) 13:20, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes, You are quite right - they were both taken in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. I should have indicated this when I uploaded the files. I will try to correct this now on the photo entries. Thanks for pointing it out. Cheers, John Hill (talk) 21:39, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks! Lennart97 (talk) 21:44, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
