Michael D. Malloy

Michael D. Malloy is an American journalist and liberal radio talk show host. His program, The Mike Malloy Show," is syndicated by Air America Radio. He was a story writer for the Cable News Network from 1984 to 1987.

His wife, Kathy Bay, is the show's producer.

Their less-than-one-year-old daughter, Molly Malloy, often sleeps in the studio while Mike and Kathy are at work. His belief that the Democratic Party has become too weak and docile in competition with the Republicans recently made him change his political affiliation to independent until Democrats will be able to improve their strategy. He also believes that Republican supporters are wrong and there is no use in "reforming" them - often mocking the right-wing callers to his show, rather than trying to initiate the debate.

Quote

  • "Have I mentioned (yet) tonight how much I hate these people?" - referring to supporters of the Republican Party

Terms coined

  • The Bush Crime Family - referring to the Bush White House and all its shady cronies
  • The Flying Monkey Right - referring to the right-wing media pundits
  • The giggling killer - referring to G.W.Bush and his tendency to giggle arbitrarily even when answering tough questions or facing critique
