Have there been RfCs or similar discussions for verification of death?
Hi Jkaharper. I'm wondering if you're aware of any RfC's or similar discussions on how to properly verify the date of death for a biographical article when it's extremely likely that the subject has died, Berniece Baker Miracle being an example. Given the standards of WP:BLP, I don't think we need to be careful. --Hipal (talk) 18:32, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Hipal:, in the past I used OTRS to create tickets to upload death certificates in some instances (usually for British subjects who died completely off radar). It's been years since I've had to do this as I usually ping leads to obituary writers in the media as soon as I hear about passings. The OTRS system is now the Volunteer Response Team (VRT), and I'm not quite sure how the process works nowadays. Berniece Baker Miracle is a tricky one because she died nearly 8 years ago now, so it's no longer newsworthy for the press. Whilst I'm well equipped with the death indexes for England & Wales, Scotland and France, the U.S. ones are harder. Her death record isn't on Ancestry yet as about 10-15 years need to have passed for it to become public. I wouldn't know how to go about requesteing a certificate from the Asheville registrar (there must be a way as TMZ do it all the time, most recently with Betty White and Sidney Poitier). I approached her daughter, Mona Rae Miracle, via email yesterday (using the contact details on her personal website). BUT, she's now in her 80s, and her website has not been active for years, so I do not expect to hear back. That was my backup idea, because you can also create a ticket for personal correspondence as evidence. I've kept the page on my watchlist and I'll keep racking my brain on it. Maybe another option is to take the 2 sources we currently have to Misplaced Pages:Reliable sources/Noticeboard and see if we can get approval for their use. Whilst the sources aren't great, they are consistent with one another and there appears to be no conflicting information elsewhere. Hope this helps? Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 22:33, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. Her publisher and local newspaper should have information, if we can find them. --Hipal (talk) 01:40, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Personal attacks
Regarding the personal attacks on Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Aad Oudt, I would ask that you strike. They are entirely inappropriate, fostering an environment of hostility, and your arguments should be focused on the sources, not on the individuals. BilledMammal (talk) 23:36, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not a personal attack, and not unjust. Merely passive criticism of your general conduct on here, and I'm entitled to my opinion. Thank you --Jkaharper (talk) 23:38, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
This is getting quite boring now. A single user obsessed with deleting bios of noted individuals, flanked by his sidekick. Their own edit histories show they have nothing constructive to offer in terms of building pages up – they simply wish to destroy the hard work of other users
is indisputably a personal attack, as is the statement regardingnon-constructive behaviour
. I would note that the rest of your post as it pertains to commentary on me is incorrect, but it doesn't as explicitly violate WP:PA as what I have quoted. BilledMammal (talk) 23:42, 27 January 2022 (UTC)- Wiktionary itself defines a personal attack as something relating to "the individuals's personal circumstances, trustworthiness, or character into question". I touched on none of those, merely your conduct and patterns of behaviour. I don't wish to discuss this any further. If you feel I have done wrong to you then lodge a complaint against me if you wish. --Jkaharper (talk) 23:45, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- WP:PA is the relevant article here, not the definition on Wiktionary - I would ask that you read it, and then we can continue this discussion. BilledMammal (talk) 23:48, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- I have no wish to continue this discussion and I already asked you to stop discussing this on my talk page. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 23:50, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies, I overlooked the final two sentences. BilledMammal (talk) 23:52, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. BilledMammal (talk) 00:07, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
- Third time I’ve asked you to stop communicating with me on here. You seem determined to ignore my wishes. I got a notification when you tagged me on the noticeboard, of course. --Jkaharper (talk) 00:36, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
