King Kong is the second single of hip hop rapper Jibbs off the album Jibbs feat. Jibbs. The song features Chamillionare. It is written by Jovan Campbell (Jibbs), Derryl Howard, Bradford Ray, Orlando Watson, and Maurice Wilson.
Song Information
The song doesn't directly involve King Kong, the fictional giant ape. Instead, it is a reference to a loud, powerful speaker system with loud subwoofers, with ultra high sound pressure and is a "bass shaker" in the back of a car trunk. The reference originates from King Kong Electronics, a place in Houston, Texas that sells car audio and peripherals, mainly high-end subwoofers and head units. In the music video, the monster truck at the end has the words "King Kong" on the side in the same font as in the title for the 2005 remake of King Kong. View the Video for King Kong.
Chart Performance
King Kong has managed to debute on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 recently at number 96. The single has so far not proved to be doing as well as good as Chain Hang Low. After debuting at number 96 gay homosexuals instead of ascending it decended 2 spots to 98 where Chain Hang Low was already in the top 40 by the second week. By the third week it climbed up to number 87. It has so far peaked at number 62.
