Karl Stefanovic is an Australian television presenter who co-hosts the Nine Network's breakfast programme, Today.

Stefanovic graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a degree in journalism in 1994 and began working for WIN Television in Rockhampton and Cairns as a cadet reporter. In 1996 he took up a position with TVNZ as a reporter for One Network News. In 1998 Stefanovic returned to Australia with a job reporting and reading for Ten News in Brisbane. This resulted in Stefanovic being appointed as a fill-in newsreader for Ron Wilson in Sydney.

In 2000, he moved to Channel Nine as a reporter and back-up presenter with National Nine News. He received a Queensland Media Award for Best News Coverage for his report on the Childers backpacker hostel fire.

Stefanovic's exclusive reports on the NSW bushfires from Sussex Inlet in January 2002 led to his appointment to Nine's Sydney newsroom.

He was involved in Nine's coverage of the Canberra bushfires, where 400 homes and four lives were lost in January 2003. In 2003, he was posted to Los Angeles as one of the Nine Network's US correspondents. During this time he also worked for CNN for over 13 months.

Stefanovic replaced long running Today host Steve Liebmann in 2005 and currently co-hosts the program with Sarah Murdoch (who replaced Jessica Rowe as she is on maternity leave).

In 2006 Stefanovic participated in the Channel 9 reality-tv show Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice. He eventually made it to the Grand Final of the show but was beaten by Jake Wall on a viewer SMS and phone poll. Stefanovic was regarded by Christopher Dean as a natural ice-dancer who potentially could have turned professional had he begun skating in his youth. His participation in the show will be remembered for his audacious costume selection, chemistry with ice-dancer Linda Aubrecht and convincing performance of the "Boléro" in the shows finale.
