Have you actually read the criteria for A7? If so can you please explain your tagging spree? PRAXIDICAE💕 03:20, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae
- Yes, I have read it. It says that articles fit the criteria if they do not "indicate why its subject is important or significant". It also links to the page giving examples of credible claims of significance, which I did not think was shown in the articles I tagged, as it only said things like "x was a poet" or "x was a minister" which does not seem especially notable.
- I saw that when you removed the speedy deletion tag, you said that it did not fit the criteria because the person had an entry in a national biographical dictionary. Thank you for specifying that in your edit summary. I did see that in the notability guidelines for people, but that section starts off with "People are likely to be notable if they meet any of the following standards. Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included; conversely, meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included." so it doesn't seem to mean having an entry automatically makes a person notable.
- If I have done something wrong, or misunderstood the criteria, I apologise. Could you please let me know specifically what I have made a mistake on? It is not helpful just to say "Did you actually read the criteria?" as I am not sure if you are only being rhetorical because you are frustrated. Thank you. -- NotCharizard 03:38, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think you read it correctly because Dafydd ap Gruffydd (poet) and every single other one you tagged in the last few hours unequivocally do not meet A7. PRAXIDICAE💕 03:39, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- I apologise then, I have read it over a few times and am still a bit confused as to why, but I'm still learning so I appreciate you letting me know I've misunderstood the criteria. Again, if you could explain how the articles note the peoples importance I would appreciate that, but if you're busy that is okay and I will have a tlak with my mentor about it. -- NotCharizard 03:42, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: BitLife (May 4)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Zxcvbnm was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. The comment the reviewer left was: Needs more reviews from reliable sources. Your submission at Articles for creation: Shit You Should Care About (May 7)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by 331dot was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. The comment the reviewer left was: Sources are a business directory listing that just documents the existence of this organization, two sources based on interviews, and a brief mention, these things do not establish notability. Kirsty MacColl
I don't think a source is needed in the lead if it is cited in the main body of the article, which I can only assume you didn't read. Thanks. 94.174.111.230 (talk) 13:01, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- @94.174.111.230 The lead needs to have citations the same as the rest - perhaps even more so, as many people who just want some basic information on Kirsty will likely only read the lead and not the rest of the article. -- NotCharizard 10:04, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- MOS:CITELEAD isn't clear at all on this. It wavers between (a) always needed and (b) open to consensus. On that basis, I am not sure we need citations for two facts that are amply covered in the body of the article. 94.174.111.230 (talk) 11:39, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi IP, I do agree with you on your point regarding cite lead and I do agree that it is unnecessary to add inline citations. However, I do think your edit could've been made better. The word "controversial" is used only when "reliable sources establish the existence of a controversy" (per WP:CONTENTIOUS) which does not seem to be in the article. I've also removed "#" from the link to the section and removed "foundation of the". For the first change I think we usually don't use # when linking to the same article but I'm not really sure, for the second change I don't think it's necessary. If I'm wrong feel free to edit it and leave a short reply below explaining, thanks you for your contributions :D (Diff of changes) also Notcharizard pinging IPs (by linking to their username) doesn't work so best leave them a talkback instead Justiyaya 15:59, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Justiyaya: Thanks for that detailed correction. Maybe it's my inexperience here trying to get things right, and I saw it as controversial when perhaps it wasn't exactly so. 94.174.111.230 (talk) 23:41, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

I mentioned you in an Incident page
Hey Notcharizard, Thank you for the hard work you do to keep Misplaced Pages a good place. I wanted to let you know that I mentioned your name as someone who reverted vandalism in a WP:ANI discussion; I did so because the vandalism doesn't seem to stop and I was hoping you could have your say about it. I am just going to copy-paste the notice below:
There is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. JohnnyCoal (talk) 16:15, 19 June 2022 (UTC)"}}
Ocean Adventure
The same person who removed critical information from the Ocean Adventure Misplaced Pages page removed the info again immediately after you undid their edit. You might want to keep an eye on this page, it seems like a target for vandalism... 122.58.212.161 (talk) 07:46, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
- Reverted and slightly copy edited, thank you IP for the notice :D Justiyaya 07:34, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome
Have a great day! :)
