Re: Urgent

Hello. Thanks for your message, and for pointing out your previous post to me. While I cannot answer for why other Arbitrators have not replied to you, please rest assured that we're by no means ignoring you, and I do intend to respond to your post on the talk page in a moment. However, as to your question regarding the block: unfortunately, I don't think this is possible. While it is now technically possible to disengage the autoblock (which blocks anyone attempting to edit using the IP address of a blocked user), I don't see this as a feasible solution, and would encourage anyone else using this shared IP address to contribute from elsewhere. Thanks for your understanding. Flcelloguy (A note?) 23:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

At the risk of sounding like I'm condoning block and ban evasion, I do want to point out that your IP address will never be explicitly blocked; indeed, we'll never know your IP address unless either a CheckUser is performed or it is revealed elsewhere on the site. It will only be your account that is technically blocked, and the autoblock will only automagically block the immediate IP address you have used in the past and any further accounts or IP addresses attempted by the account. While you are not free to edit while banned, others are still free to do so. However, note that any attempts at ban evasion will be met with strictly, and CheckUsers can be done if any such suspicion arises. I'm confident, though, that you'll respect our decision and return after one year. Thanks for your understanding again. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm afraid you misunderstood me: I believe the autoblock will automatically block the previous IP address used by the blocked user and any IP addresses used in attempts to edit by that account. Because you indicated you were using a "temporary" IP address, I assumed that the shared IP address you were concerned about had not been used recently, meaning it would not trigger the autoblock. However, note that I'm not a technical expert on how the blocking system works and my impression could be totally incorrect; also note again that I'm not encourging ban or block evasion in any way - if the case closes as it is, you would be banned from editing for a year. Thanks again. Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
