Karnataka Brahmins or Carnatic Brahmins are Pancha Dravida Brahmin and Indo Aryan Brahmins both communities native to the Indian state of Karnataka Some Brahmins came from Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh to Karnataka they are Indo Aryan Brahmins are also settled in Karnataka so Karnataka Brahmins are both Indo Aryan Brahmins and pancha Dravida Brahmins

Classification

Karnataka Brahmins fall under the Pancha Dravida Brahmin and Indo Aryan Brahmins classification of the Brahmin community in India. Karnataka Brahmins are divided into three major sub-divisions, the Smarta, Madhva and Sri Vaishnava with several sub-divisions under each.
