This book is about a china rabbit named Edward Tulane who loses his owner, Abilene. Then loses his next owner and the next and the next, and questions himself what is fondness.
When he loses his owner Abilene he realizes or finds out what fondness really is. After all the people who he loses in his life he gains all of this fondness for other people because they keep trying to help Edward but make it worse, like for example cracking his head open, but Edward is just happy for what they try to do because he knows they actually care for him even though they are making it harder to solve his problem, if this sort of stuff keeps happening then it will make it harder to find his original owner and his original life and it will be hard for Abilene to recognize him if she even does finds him.
I would like you to recognize that I said “If”, I said that because it is a HUGE if, maybe he will never solve his problem. Nope instead a shop owner puts him up for sale, he doesn't get bought for several years, antil one morning a toddler grabs him and tells him mom that he wants him, his mom said ok, but first the mom grabs the doll and when she saw it she said “ Edward?” Edward was thinking sense well he can’t talk “Abilene?” then thinks “Yes yes it’s me Edward and you are Abilene” Then he gets bought and is having the time of his life with his solved problem.
