Drinibot misbehavior
Your bot Drinibot is renaming Category:Natives of Sicily to Category:People from Silicy. This is a spelling error. The correct spelling is Category:People from Sicily. Spacepotato 23:59, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- thank you, but it wasn't my bot's fault... See from where my bot extracted the names. Somebody made a typo. I'll fix it, thanks for noticing it. -- Drini 00:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
IRC?
The console tells me that my username is already in use... how can that be? Someone impersonating me? I have been using IRC for more than a year now and now I cannot login. Any ideas Drini? (please respond in my talk. Gracias) ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 03:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hola Drini... you probably did that out of an attempt to help me, but I was puzzled to see my full IP and name in my talk page... :( PilotGuy came to the rescue and deleted it from the history. Cuidado con eso, hermano... (thanks anyway) ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 16:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

So which powers does he retain? As I understand it, he has retired his Misplaced Pages account and given up his admin and other priviliges, but still retains his Wikimedia Foundation Advisory Board vote? Am I reading that correctly? ---CH 03:30, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

I can't get away from En:wiki if I try
I guess you found my message on the Spanish Village Pump... I guess I wanted to know how many different sysops do promotions on the Spanish RfA, as well as how they discuss controversial promotions (i.e, the same things we are discussing on WT:RFA right now). My main wonder was: As opposed to our system, where we have very few bureaucrats, what is the reality in a system where there is a huge number of 'crats? By the way, how was my Spanish? Understandable? I swear my spoken Spanish is better... RyanGerbil10(Упражнение В!) 04:38, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the thing is that on es:, RFA is actually a true voting. You get above 75%, you get promoted. No need to use judgement. Therefore, anyone can be bureaucrat. Good spanish, 75-80% btw. -- Drini 04:41, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I was hoping for an in-depth and ultimately insightful case study, but if its that simple, its that simple. Thanks for the insight. RyanGerbil10(Упражнение В!) 04:43, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Special kinds of action
If it's a realandtrue specialkindofaction thing, can we make sure the i's are dotted and t's are crossed? I'd like to use it as a step to get rid of a list that is basically a list of people who should be really pissed at Misplaced Pages. (listing at the page, the protection being done by the special account?) Thanks. Hipocrite - «Talk» 21:46, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've emaled danny for confirmation, as it was one of the interns of the WMF asked us to do it. -- Drini 22:00, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ok it seems there was some misunderstanding and we were asked to do something different. It's been undone -- Drini 22:17, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
This is Andrew Shields, intern at the Wikimedia Office. This issue came up a few days ago because someone kept putting Davenport's real name and personal info up on the page. I misunderstood and asked Drini to delete the article as it just looked like a personal smear page, which he did on behalf of Danny and Sandy at my request. Later I talked with another admin and apparently Davenport was a semi-famous porn star. I misunderstood the issue and the action has been reverted, with the article locked so the person causing the problem stops putting his real name up on the page.
Anyway this was my mistake. Call office or send me/Danny an email about it if you need to.

User:Drini/AxlPMP
Hello, I believe I have stumbled across a recently blocked account from the AxlPMP group named Axlrose111 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Either it is from the group or an impersonator. Do you have a way to confirm this (or least a way to confirm that the address he was using is in the 205.202.*.* "State of Nebraska / Office of the CIO" block or the "Cox " block)? Although you seem to be more familiar with them than I am, I am from Omaha and I am personally interested in vandalism/threats from schools in the Omaha area. Especially the AxlPMP case which you were most involved in. Regards, Tuxide 22:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- I cant' perform chekuser on en:, but I don't think it's needed in this cas.e Such account can be indef blocked on its own, so please go ahead and do so. -- Drini 23:01, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Cat move
Hi,
When you delete a moved category, like Category:Australian coins, can you also delete the talk page? Btw, that cat is parallel to Category:Australian banknotes. Thanks. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 22:53, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I try, but the removal is doen with a robot, not manually. And since the talk page isn't mentioned anywhere on Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion/Working I cna't tell my bot to do it. Perhaps you should request the guys maintaining that page to doublechek if talk pages remain before delisting entries -- Drini 02:17, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Constant category removals?
Hi, I see how all the recent categories were completely scrapped by Drinibot because "they take too much space". But I was in favor of them because IMO they were informative - especially the one with the Power Rangers cast members. Yet most of the other categories involving these actors (or other actors) have yet to be listified and the one on Power Rangers hasn't been listified at all. My thinking is this all started because someone doesn't like PR. But is there a way the actors can be listified somehow? And will other categories (such as Bleach cast members, Streamline cast members, Ghost in the Shell voice actors, etc.) be listified soon? I would hate to think that there is favoritism here in Misplaced Pages. I like knowing who was in what show, whether they were regulars or guests. I know you can't really tell your bot what to do because it IS a bot, after all, but I thought maybe you might know what is going on. Just wondering, thanks. 69.117.20.134 20:29, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't decide to remove them. I just carried out the consensus achieved at WP:CFD. My bot takes the list from http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Working which are all of them closed debates. So , rant at those who participated on them and decided to remove those. Not at me, just doing the grunt work-- Drini 22:14, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Listified categories?
Hi, Drini. I noticed that you deleted the categories "Doctor Who cast members" and "Doctor Who directors". The CfDs for those categories were closed as "Listify then delete." I can't find whether these were in fact listified. Can you help? Do you know whether there was a list created for these categories? Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 07:19, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sombody listed it "ready for bot deletino" see http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Misplaced Pages:Categories_for_discussion/Working&oldid=114193629
instead of marking "NO BOTS" or putting them under "listify", can you check back a few revisions to see who was the culprit? -- Drini 16:37, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Here: now you know who should be questioning. -- Drini 16:40, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks — Tim! found the lists, which were created yesterday. I wonder if there's some way that when categories are listified there could be a pointer to the list somewhere? —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 20:20, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Cast Members of Space 1999
Your bot has automatically deleted this category but I cannot see why it was deleted and who deleted it? Is there a way of search through the discussion logs? I believe this is a mistake as the series had many famous guest stars who are not listed in the regular actors section. BTW I wasn't involved with the creation of these pages. I'd imagine the author will be miffed that they have disappeared.
- Have you checked the bot's edit summary? -- Drini 03:21, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

sigh... people can't read. It's in big, bold red letters on the bot's talk page. Go Misplaced Pages:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 January 25 -- Drini 03:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Drinibot problems?
Hi, Drini. While trying to remove the category Category:User en-L-0 from my user page, Drinibot messed up the page formatting. I had subst'ed all my userboxes back during the userbox wars, which may have confused the bot. I've fixed it now (and deleted the offending category). I don't know whether any other userpages were messed up, but I thought you'd like to know. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 05:12, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- No problem. I'm not quite sure why moving the categories to the bottom of the page would have messed up the page layout the way it did, but I'm not really that concerned about it either — the damage was easily repaired. I just thought you might like to check to see if any other pages were similarly affected, because some users might not be as understanding as I was. :) —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 18:31, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Just to let you know, the changes your bot made aren't just affecting Josiah Rowe's page. They seem to be affecting everyone's user page (Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:User_arc-0 and Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:User_ang-0). Harryboyles 12:26, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- ok. The downside of using predefined templates that, when modified affect many apges is that, when they are modified many pages are affected. People could just write "Hey I like watching birds" with their own words, but they prefer to be unoriginal and write "this user likes watching birds" with a bumper sticker equivalent. -- Drini 16:00, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Category deletion
Can you point me toward the discussion of the deletion of this category?

- Thanks Drini. someone called radiant already pointed it out. The list is heavily populated, I am surprised the cat was deleted. There are many freemasonry cats and none for the individuals. I believe it is notable in Australia and England, and elsewhere. Cheers, Fred 03:19, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
"Purported" Psychics and Spiritual Mediums
You have an advantage on me because I don't understand all the technical stuff on Misplaced Pages. Have these categories been renamed, or is there a discussion going on? If they have been renamed, I need to know the procedure to restore the old names. If there is a discussion going on, I need to know on what page.--Caleb Murdock 12:31, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sure. there was a discussion for a week, and the discussion has been closed however. The categories were renamed according to http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_March_8#Category:Psychics it wasn't my decision nor I was involved on it, I just carried out the decision of such discussion. -- Drini 15:35, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Freemasons
Could you please point me to the debate and discussion for the deletion of Cetegory:Freemasons? I'm trying to reference it for another CFD. Thank you. —ScouterSig 18:43, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
