Hebbar Iyengars are mainly from Mysore, Bangalore and the sorrounding places. The etymology in Kannada of Hebbar resolves to "hebbu/hiridhu" (meaning big) + "haruva" (meaning brahmin). They speak a charecteristic dialect influenced by Kannada and Tamil.
