Font

Hi, per WP:TALK#Markup would you mind not using the "chiller" font on talk pages? It is incredibly difficult to read, especially with it being another color too. Metros232 18:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I read WP:TALK#Markup & it doesnt say I'm not allowed to use another font or colour. I use it bc it helps me see the differences. How /where did u read something that I posted anyways? Lilkunta 18:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC).

It says you should not use html mark-up which is what you're using to make the font a different color. It is very unbearable to read. Metros232 18:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

The place you posted was not your user talk page. So you're using that font in other people's talk pages and making it impossible to read messages to them on their own talk page. If you want to keep your font here, sure, whatever, but on other talk pages it is wholely inappropriate. Metros232 23:56, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

The quote from WP:TALK#Markup is "Avoid HTML markup: Use of HTML markup where equivalent wikimarkup works fine is frowned upon, except the use of the <s> (strike-through) operator."

Please will you type properly, this shortening words down (like please to plz) is OK sometimes but it is highly annoying and makes browsing through messages hard, also, their is no sentence saying about to leave me a new message click the blue bar, I removed the blue bar and the sentence ages ago, here are the diffs of when you have repeatedly posted to the wrong place , and multiple ones here. I no when you type User:Tellyaddict it is a navigation page and it leads to User:Tellyaddict/User but I just make the link say Userpage even though you are already viewing my userpage, so if you wish to reply please reply here and not here. I told u I didnt post on the page on purpose, I posted to where I was redirected to. To be fair, Tellyaddict, your talk page does say "If you want to leave me a message please click the blue message bar above this". That shouldn't stop Lilkunta though, because if he read that, then he should have been in the right place to leave you a message, and therefore wouldn't have thought it proper to leave it on your user page. Your font

I, and I'm sure others, find your font to be extremely distracting and difficult to read. Please read the talk page guidelines for info on what is generally accepted for fonts. The only reason I can see for making your font so small and non-standard is to cause people difficulty in reading it. Leebo /C 18:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Lilkunta, I ran into your message on Tellyaddict's page and I have to second Leebo's comment, it's almost illegible. As a courtesy to other editors, you should make your font somewhat more legible. What is illegible? This isnt handwriting, it is crisp clear typed letters. I see it all fine. Maybe its ur webbrowser. Is ur trouble that the post is too light? Is this better? Is it too small? Lilkunta, I told you not to reply on my page with that font. You shouldn't not be changing your font at all. That should be clear enough. To answer your question, yes size 2 is extremely tiny, and Chiller isn't a font that is supported by all browsers. People without that font will not be able to read anything you write. Again - you shouldn't be altering your font at all, it's distracting. And definitely don't use that font on my talk page. Leebo /C 20:23, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi Leebo, I read ur 20:23 post. Pls dont be rude. Who says I'm not to change my font? It isnt clear. If I tell u to change ur signature 2 a plain 1, will u? I see others who post in diff sizes and scripts. I guess I'm lucky that my browser reads everything.

So its chiller that throws u off? What do my posts look like 2 u? Too light? Too dark ? Too small? I dont get what u meant when u said u had to move back in order to read my posts. I didnt know that all browsers dont ( ur particular browser doesnt) read/register/recognise Chiller.

Lilkunta, I'm not trying to be rude. What I'm saying is there shouldn't be a need to change your font, and you kept using it on my page (and then I had to remove your markup) after I asked you not to, so I may have sounded curt. As for your question about what it looks like, this is what it looks like in my browser. ULYSSES: How do I change my font colour/size so every 1 may easily read my posts?

Thx Ulysses. Yes I do need help with 1 more thing. R u having trouble w/ reading my posts to you? Leebo sees this & this but I dont. Sometimes I dont see Chiller font but just plain font that is green. What do you see? I will stop using Chiller if I may use another font. I will change colour if I'm able to use another colour. Lilkunta, the easiest way to not add font is to not add the font tag to the beginning, just type directly into the edit box. It will come up as I am typing right now. If you need to bold a particular word, then place ''' on either side of the word you wish to bold. Two of these will do Italics. This is particularly why when you open a page to edit it, you'll notice there are no buttons for "Font Face" or "font size", as they are to be used very sparingly and only when absolutely necessary. To indent, place : at the beginning of each new paragraph, two will indent twice, three will indent three times. The same is true for bullets, only substitute *. Metros232 and any other user has the right to bring an issue to your talk page. Cascadia 02:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Personally I don’t have a problem with your choosing to use a different font or color than the default for posting on talk pages, though it is fairly unusual and puts you in a minority of users. Most users only use different fonts and colors for their signature. I do feel, however, that if someone objects to your use of the non-standard font on their personal page I would respect their wishes and either not post on their page or post using the defaults. As to the readability of your posts I will admit that the combination of the changed font, light color and at least the illusion of small size does make it much harder to read. If you are especially enamored of the Chiller font and green color then I would suggest a larger font size to help make your posts more easily readable. Also, the use of HTML is discouraged generally in favor of CSS. I will admit that I have very little experience with this as I tend to use the defaults myself.--Ulysses411 04:24, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Also, if you are going to use HTML to change your font please be sure to type /font (with the <>) after your message so you will close the font change. Otherwise this will cause everything after your message, including the posts of others, to appear in your font. Lilkunta, please refrain from accusing ANYONE of vandalism. As an expert web designer, and COO of a company that builds web pages, I can tell you exactly what happened: YOU added a font tag that was never closed. You also added that font tag to my page (again, unclosed). Please, DO NOT USE FONT TAGS WHEN REPLYING TO ANY MESSAGES ON ANY TALK PAGE. You clearly do not have an understanding of HTML and how to use it properly. Please consider this an official warning. O mi goodness. Whatever. Tout yourself as whoever u want. It wasnt a vandalism accusation. It was a comment. All this time my disc page has been fine. My words in green & others in black. But since the last posts my whole page is green and text is smaller. This is when I was last here and everything was ok:A. Vandalism accusations

Please do not post false accusations of vandalism like you did here. No one vandalized the page. It's you who caused your entire page to turn green by not closing the font tag on your HTML signature.
