When Princess Tatiana Konstantinovna , daughter of G-D Konstantine Konstantinovich, obtained the consent of her father to marry Konstantine Bagration and of course the blessing of HIM Nicholas II, she signed an official renouncement to their future children's rights, and that was BEFORE the abdication of the Romanov dynasty. So did her niece Ekaterina Ioannovna, princess of the Imperial Blood, in the late thirties, when she married Ruggero, marchese (in italian, or marquess, it means the same,) Farace di Villaforesta, for their children. Neither of these children : Nicoletta, Fiammetta and Ivan Farace ever considered themselves as heirs.... but Ivan, now marchese Farace di Villaforesta, is an active honorary member of the Family Association since his mother passed away in 2007. Russian Study Tool

Perhaps I have not found the right forum for this, but I'll post anyway and see what happens.

I've used Wiktionary's Russian entries for a long time, and they have been invaluable to me as a learner of the Russian language. With the help of Python, I have developed a program that allows you to read more effectively. The basic idea is this: you pick a text in Russian (you can draw from a variety of sources). Whenever you stumble across a word with which you are unfamiliar, you simply select the word and perform a search. The program pulls the associated entry from Wiktionary, allowing you to quickly see the definition, declension/conjugation, and usage notes of the word you search. You can then return to the text and keep reading seamlessly. Furthermore, if you desire to see examples, the program can comb Misplaced Pages articles (presumably written by reasonably intelligent Russian natives) for examples of the word, and provides a list for you to view. Seeing a word deployed in context is indispensable for language learning.

This program is now a standard part of my Russian studies. I would love to create a server to provide access to this program to anyone interested, but this would of course involve an increase in traffic to the Wiktionary servers. I don't know whether it would be possible to set this up on a large, widely accessible scale. Ideas? With whom might I get in contact to discuss this further?

LGBT history in the Soviet Union

I could use a bit of help cleaning up the split I made, especially converting the sections at LGBT history in Russia and LGBT rights in the post-Soviet states to summary style. Start of 8th State Duma term

While going through and generally improving the infoboxes for various Duma deputies, I noticed that many MP's have the start of their terms listed as 19 September 2021 rather than 12 October 2021. The former is the date of election for the Duma rather than the opening of the convocation so I have/will have corrected them.Jokojis (talk) 02:41, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

Indigenous people

It seems that Unified list of Indigenous minority peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East of Russia is actually about the Unified Register of the Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples and for some reason 6 indigenous peoples not in the north are arbitrarily being ignored in the title and the text of the article. Capitalization of Indigenous

Capitalization of the word Indigenous is recommended on English Misplaced Pages when referring to Indigenous peoples by both Misplaced Pages:INDIGENOUS and MOS:RACECAPS. Members of New Zealand's Maori taskforce have raised the question of whether these guidelines are US-centric or North America-centric. Does this ethnography taskforce have any guidelines on this matter? Thank you. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 20:22, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

"Indigenous people" is translated as "коренный народ", at least on the Russian Misplaced Pages, and doesn't seem to be capitalized there. In that context it would mostly come up in discussion of the Unified list of Indigenous minority peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East of Russia and other topics relating to the Indigenous peoples of Siberia, and I will say as someone living in Canada I would personally be much likelier to leave Indigenous uncapitalized in the context of Siberia than I would in the context of the First Nations, Inuit, or Metis. OKATO has much improved in recent years. Although it may not reflect the very latest changes, it generally suffices.
