Misplaced Pages and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Whizkin! Your additions to Amnon Shashua have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:51, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi, I think this must be an error, can you show me what portion was copied ? Whizkin (talk) 12:52, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
@Diannaa: Can you assist? I am quite certain that I didn't copy anything? Whizkin (talk) 12:59, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
Your description of the Shashua Foundation matched material present at https://en.shashua-foundation.org.il/about. — Diannaa (talk) 13:05, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
Okay... I cited that article and clearly remember paraphrasing the content, not copying any entire sentence verbatim. If you found an identical sentence, that must have been an error on my side. I'll be more careful. Whizkin (talk) 13:09, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

@Diannaa, I am really confused here. Is there some way I can see the deleted content? After your last message, I reviewed all my recent edits and rephrased everything that sounded too similar to the source. I must be missing something. Whizkin (talk) Whizkin (talk) 17:27, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Some of the content you added to Israeli cybersecurity industry in two different edits was a match for material at https://startupnationcentral.org/blog/cybersecurity/cybersecurity-in-israel/. Content was descriptions of cybersecurity companies, and descriptions of activities of academic institutions. — Diannaa (talk) 19:43, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for this reply. However, following your comment from yesterday, I reviewed and fixed the descriptions in later edits to avoid an exact match with the original text. Have you seen my later edits, or do you think they were still too close? Sorry for asking so many questions, but I want to better understand so I can improve next time. Whizkin (talk) 19:47, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Sorry, I did check the current revision, and found there was still a lot of overlap, more than we can host here without violating copyright. For example, the information you added on Technion was pretty much identical to the source. — Diannaa (talk) 20:40, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
I see. Thank you. Whizkin (talk) 21:14, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Israeli settlements are not "neighbourhoods"

There is a reason why Israeli settlements in "Greater Jerusalem" don't have an inbox: they are contested, cheers Huldra (talk) 21:20, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

I'm improving the articles by adding the "Infobox settlement" to make them more informative, consistent and visually appealing. Are you concerned with the word "Neighborhood"? It's not a mandatory part of the infobox. There is no attempt to make any political statement here. Whizkin (talk) 06:13, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
