A bondage suit, also known as a gimp suit or gimpsuit, is a form-fitting garment designed to cover the entire body, often including the hands and feet, for role-playing purposes within BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, and Masochism). The term "GIMP" has been interpreted as an acronym for "guy in mask permanently," though it is commonly used in a gender-neutral context.
Design and materials
Bondage suits may include an attached hood or be worn with a separate bondage hood, also known as a "gimp mask." The purpose of the hood or mask is to limit facial perception, allowing the wearer to fully assume the role they have consensually agreed upon. The bondage suit, as a whole, is intended to alter the executive functions of those involved by affecting perception.
