Spread the news: as part of its Open Content program, The Getty (not to be confused with Getty Images, which regularly attempts to assert ownership of public domain content it has scanned) has made 160,000 images available under the Creative Common Zero license, which allows anyone, including Misplaced Pages, to "copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission."

Thanks for the humor!

Dear Guy Macon: Your edits, as in Misplaced Pages:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 217#My favorite source , have shown traces of a sense of humor, which is disruptive of the serious, somber, and relentlessly grim mood that so many other good people in all walks of life have exhibited just before burning out entirely. Be advised that if you continue on this present course, you run the risk of enjoying yourself while at work on this project, and you may even have a similar effect on other editors. Please consider very carefully whether you want to be responsible for such consequences. Thank you. Yes, I know that was written 7 years ago, but that's too funny to go unrecognized upon discovery.

By the way, don't let the actions of one of the 851 admins and one of the 114,522 active users three years ago make you paranoid now. I am much to young (in WikiAge) to have seen you edit, but given your following you were a good one. .
