Montenegrin language was recognized by ISO in December 2017. It is named as an official language in the Constitution of Montenegro. It is a standard variety of Serbo-Croatian.
The ethnicity of inhabitants of Montenegro is a more political than a historical question. Opinions vary widely.

to add this note to ethic groups infobox "data includes 90,77% Montenegrin nationals and 9,23 foreigners" this is very important

also, I already see some census data manipulation here . why are data for "montenegrin-serbian" and "serbian-montenegrin" added to serbian population rather than montenegrin? it doesn't make sense and is own research. 77.222.27.57 (talk) 11:24, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
