William Ormond Butler (23 September 1895 – 19 August 1978) was a United States Army Air Force majorgeneral. He graduated from the United States Military Academy Field ArtilleryWest Point, New York, in April 1917 and was commissioned in the Infantry Branch. After service on the Western Front in World War I, he transferred to the United States Army Air Corps in 1920. During World War II, he commanded the Eleventh Air Force in Alaska.
