  1. Incorporate info from this Gallup poll on Halloween
  2. Identify sources for uncited sections
  3. Remove material not verifiable to reliable sources
  4. checkY Update section Haunted Attractions to current information

Halloween is celebrated in many places of the world. It would be useful to introduce how people celebrate Halloween in different countries in the world, for example Mexico, Peru or other non-speaking countries. We always explain the tradition of Halloween based on the United States but it could be interesting to know the differents traditions in the different countries.

Halloween is NOT Christian

This has NOT originated in Christianity, it is actually a holiday practiced by witches… nothing Christian about this!! https://www.history.com/topics/halloween/history-of-halloween#ancient-origins-of-halloween 108.58.47.194 (talk) 14:41, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

their is another beginning of halloween as some people also think it was started by german influence 59.153.86.155 (talk) 02:10, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Do you have a reliable source for that claim? HiLo48 (talk) 02:17, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

Scottish influence

Some editors keep the order of influence that is against the evidence of influence: namely that, as the article states and is historically attested, the name of the festival is from the Scots word. This festival is not Samhain. Viking870 (talk) 22:41, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

In the English language the name Halloween may well be derived from Scottish sources; the festival itself is not of exclusive Scottish origin, rather an older Celtic origin. The name of the "festival" in Irish Gaelic is indeed Samhain - in modern Irish it is called Oíche Shamhna. The article discusses the origins of the actual festival itself, not just the root of the modern English-language name? Sarah777 (talk) 00:08, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
