"Trunk Fulla Amps" is a song by the American alternative rock pop rock band Self, released on February 1, 2001, as the lead single to their third studio album Gizmodgery. The track has multiple references to American music and pop culture, including references to Freddie Mercury and Lenny Kravitz.

Release

A music video for "Trunk Fulla Amps" was released alongside the single, featuring the members of the band performing and having a party; and was directed by Reed Ridley and edited by Wes Edwards. The video was released through both MTV, and online via the Spongebath Records website.

According to Matt Mahaffey, most of the recording budget went into a 30-second advertisement played during the 2001 Super Bowl that aired in select areas of the east coast.
