Sebastian Korbinian Frankenberger (* September 17, 1981, in Passau) is a former German politician and member of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP). From 2010 to 2014, he served as the federal chairman of this party. He gained national recognition in 2009 as the initiator of the successful referendum “For Genuine Non-Smoker Protection!” in Bavaria. Early Life

Sebastian Frankenberger attended the Adalbert-Stifter-Gymnasium in Passau from 1992 to 2001. After graduating from high school, he began studying mathematics and physics for teaching at the University of Regensburg. In 2003, he switched to studying theology at the University of Passau with the aim of becoming a pastoral counselor, a career path he later abandoned due to changes within the church. It is unclear whether any of his fields of study were completed. He also undertook several training programs, including certification as an emergency pastoral caregiver and a state-certified tour guide for Austria. Since 2003, he has worked as a costume theater guide for the Passau “City Fox Tours.” In 2007, he co-founded “StadtLux” in Linz with two colleagues, offering interactive costume theater tours incorporating group pedagogy. In 2017, Frankenberger founded the “DonauGuides GmbH” to promote cultural experiences along the Danube. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he established the consultancy “Tourism Training” in 2020, organizing the Danube-Moldau Guide Day twice for tour guides in the tri-border area of Bavaria, Upper Austria, and South Bohemia. As a student, Frankenberger was elected regional student council president of Lower Bavaria and later served as a student senator at the University of Passau. From 2015 to 2019, Frankenberger served as spokesperson for the sports and leisure sector of the austriaguides in Upper Austria, part of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO).
