Evening gloves as a fashion

Evening gloves have been a huge style in more sohicticated contries since the early 1800s. They are usually more worn by women and girls. Different colors have existed. They are usually made with a soft cotton, although, leather has been common in recent years.



They've had became pouplur with Hollywood stars and this era lasted from the 1920s to the 1960s. They come in different shapes and sizes and range in all different colors. The flapper era of the 1920s is when these gloves really immensed popularity. The gloves had died down since the 1970s, however, you could perchese them still oline.



These gloves are more commonly associated with women's fashion.

17th century

The history of the evening gloves can trace its history in the early 17th century England and other high end contries. By the early 18th century, almost every women were wearing evening gloves. In high end sohicticated contries (e.g. England, Italy and France), they have became quite popular, especilly in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, when women stated to wear them more.



These gloves are either long armed or short armed, depending on the size. Upper class married women started to wear them since 1922. And wealthy women living in Califonia, Floridia, New York, started to wear them as well. Gloves made with leather started appreing in the mid to early 18th century, and have since became the second most popular glove material.

18th century France had women wearing long gloves, so did Britian and other high end contries around the world. england was the same; Britian became the first country to resort to the long gloves in their cultures.
