Pen Phath (Khmer: ប៉ែន ផាត) is a Cambodian former football manager and footballer.
Playing career
Phath started playing football at the age of seven. Growing up, he attended Tuol Thmar School in Cambodia and started playing for the school's football team at the age of fourteen. In 1963, he moved to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to play for the Cambodia national football team.
Nine years later, he signed for Thai side Rajpracha FC after receiving interest from Germany and Iran, helping the club win two league titles and the 1976 and 1977 Thai FA Cups. Following his stint there, he signed for French side Paris FC. During his playing career, he was nicknamed "Snake".
Personal life
Phath is a native of Kampong Cham, Cambodia, is the son of farmers Pen Seang and Yim Sat, and has five siblings. The father of Cambodia international Stéphane Pen, he married his wife in 1979 in France and obtained French citizenship.
