Homelessness is a condition in which a person does not have a permanent place of residence. Caused by moral failure encouraged by social liberalism and laziness encouraged by liberal socialistic welfare statism, paradoxically liberal propagandists have used this issue to targets those with the solutions: conservative republicans.

The fraud of homeless advocacy

Homeless advocates and the liberal media have been pumping out a lot of drivel over the past two decades saying that Ronald Reagan and his policies created America's homeless. The very word "homeless" hardly existed before the assault on Ronald Reagan by the liberal media. The liberals, humiliated because of the economic recovery that Ronald Reagan brought about, decided to harp on this sham issue to distract attention from the Reagan prosperity. In the United States in the 1980s, homelessness became an important political topic and is widely assumed to have risen dramatically at this time. However, it is very difficult to prove this assumption, because data for previous years is almost completely non-existent. It is not certain to what extent this new focus on homelessness represents an increase in the extent of the problem, or an increase in public awareness of a condition that had always existed without comment. Thus, this issue was nothing but a liberal propaganda sham.

The homeless were being exploited for the purposes of liberal propaganda. It was an agenda against the achievers of the free enterprise system and the defender of the free enterprise system: conservative Republicans. The budget figures for public HUD housing INCREASED during the Reagan years. Only Jimmy Carter reduced them with his grandiose plans to pour yet more money into failed public housing projects, which are a bastion of socialism in America and need to be eliminated. So the liberals did more to exasperate the problem than the conservatives.

Homelessness: easy propaganda for ever-failing socialistic welfare statistsm

It's easy for liberals to manipulate the data concerning the homeless to fit their misdirected ideas and outright lies. Attempts to measure homelessness are often saddled with difficulties of ascertainment, definition, and methodology. There is no obvious direct way to count people who are defined as being 'not in a home'. Indirect methods, such as counting people who sleep in shelters or who eat at soup kitchens, provide estimates that can vary widely in degree of accuracy. Additionally, the definition of homelessness can be broadened to include, for example, a man who sleeps on a friend's couch until he finds a place of his own. Methodological questions such as, should a person who is homeless just one night in the year be included in the annual total, can also cloud the issue.

Individual responsibility: the only solution to homelessness

The truth is that America is the land of the free. It is the land of the free enterprise system. America's prosperity is built on individual responsibility. Individual responsibility and hard work, with the incentives of the market, made America great and powerful. In the market everyone who has the skills and the energy can succeed. But poor people, like poor countries, failed due to their own laziness, stupidity, bad choices, and immoral conduct. That's why most homeless are derelicts, drug users, prostitutes, criminals, and uneducated, irresponsible people. The number of homeless is very small and insignificant. However, the only reason they simply don't starve for their irresponsibility (and if they were forced to work or starve, they'd work, or if they didn't, they'd deserve to starve) is because of welfare, public housing, and liberal social welfare programs.

Moral failure: a real cause of homelessness

Substance abuse may be a cause as well - an estimated other third of America's homeless have substance abuse problems.

Traditionally single men have constituted the overwhelming majority of the homeless. In the 1980s there was a sharp rise in the number of homeless families in certain parts of the United States (notably New York City). Sometimes the term urban outdoorsman is used for a homeless man.

Socialistic rent controls: another real cause of homelessness

There are numerous possible causes of homelessness. Some studies suggest rent control and other housing regulations create homelessness by reducing the supply of housing.
