Template:Campaignbox Arab-Israeli conflictThe 1947-48 Palestinian civil war took place from November 30 1947, shortly after the 1947 UN Partition Plan, to May 14 1948 when the British Mandate of Palestine ended.
This period constitutes the first phase of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, during which the Jewish and Arab communities of Palestine clashed, while the ruling British, who were supposed to guarantee safety there, planned their withdrawal and only occasionally intervened.
