It is under the administration of Republika Srpska. Gradačac and Modriča are neighbouring towns; and Čardak and Kornica are neighbouring villages. It is the birthplace of Alija Izetbegovic and Zoran Djindjic, former presidents of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia respectively.
