I don't know what the following means (maybe we need more context?):

Artilleryman

Romário is 2º bigger artilleryman of the history of the professional football, being surpassed only for Pelé. In day 23 March of 2005 Romário made a total of 900 goals (official FIFA count)

He's made more than 1000 goals, but in the official FIFA count is 900. He's really the second bigger artilleryman of the professional football, proven through abridgements of the games. --Mateusc 02:02, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)

"Artilleryman" is a literal translation of the term artilheiro which in portuguese means (top) goalscorer. For example, the golden boot award given by FIFA is given to the artilheiro of the competition, or top goalscorer.LtDoc 21:16, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Arthur Friedenreich was the top goalscorer, but most of his goals are made in unofficial games. If Romario really uses his unofficial goals in this count, he isn't the second top goalscorer. pbalduino 11:36, 27 March 2007 (EAT)

wrong, Romário played only 6 months in Valencia and back to Flamengo in 1999 that he decided in Carioca Championship.

Are you insane? Romário can even do a 100 meter sprint anymore. And Edmundo hasn't played at a high level since 97!

Arthur Friedenreich

Some users are insisting say Arthur Friedenreich made more than 1000 goals. This is false and not recognized by FIFA. Stop push false and amateur point of view. Only Pelé made more than 1000 goals in the soccer history.

I ask for insisting put this here a OFFICIAL source that comproves it. No magazines allowed, only CBF and FIFA words.

I think we shouldnt mention Arthur out of respect for Romario,since Romario is playing against much harder teams then Pele or Arthur played.For example,I dont think that Football was played in USA when Pele and Arthut played,but now even Amerikans play footbal,and they are proffesional about it,so its not easy for Romario to play even in USA. Thats why he is officialy second bigger artilleryman in the history and we should not mention Arthur F.

There's no comprovation.. you need get CBF official statement. Amateur football not counts.

The official Romario count is provided by FIFA. Yes, many friendly games by Barcelona was not counted because wasn't official game. He is already passed the mark of 1000.

I thought more than half of pele's goals weren't recognized by FIFA. SW 28/11/006

The table shows much fewer goals than he actually has. Please someone correct the information.

Romario played from 1988 till 1993 for PSV Eindhoven.

Golden ball winner

Romario was not the golden ball winner in FIFA WorldCup in 1994 as he only scored 5 goals. Russian Salinko and Bulgarian Stoichkov both scored 6 goals. One more correction, Ronaldo was not the golden ball winner in FIFA WorldCup 1998, it was awarded to Croatian Dafor Suker who scored 6 goals. P.S: Please forgive me for the spelling mistakes with the names of the players I mentioned.

Romario was the golden ball award winner in 1994, as was Ronaldo in 1998. The top goalscorer of the World Cup does not receive the golden ball award, but the one called golden boot or golden shoe. --ChaChaFut 02:46, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
