Dale Thompson (born 1963) is an American singer and song writer. In 1983, he and his brother, Troy Thompson, created the Christian metal band Bride, and are the only original members still in the band.
Thompson was seeking the Constitution Party nomination in the 2008 campaign for President of the United States. He dropped out around March 19, 2007.
Thompson is a fan of boxing and weightlifting, and currently holds the record for being the "strongest man in Kentucky" for benchpressing. He jokingly stated "I'm the strongest 198 pound 41-year-old in Kentucky."
Personal Beliefs
A committed Christian, Thompson's lyrics often imply Universalism. For instance, in the 2003 (2006 re-release) album, "This is it," he stated in the song "Best I Expect to Do," Do you believe in torment? I'm the touchstone of your soul, I just can't believe in your hell anymore. Unlike previous albums, where most speculated certain Universalism aspects, "This is it" increased speculation, albeit not as apparent. This belief has been controversial among some fans and critics, as Thompson is not a Fundamentalist even though his lyrics are obviously Christian.
