"Welcome to the Jungle (Entourage)"

'Welcome to the Jungle" is the season 4 premiere of the dramedy television series Entourage.

Plot

Shortly after the events of last season, Vince and the entourage travel to Colombia to begin production on their film Medellin which is now under Billy Walsh's control. While on set, a filmmaker makes a documentary revolving the events of the production and filming stages of the film. Walsh immediately clashes with producer Eric and demands more than is expected including more extras in a pivotal scene and the collaboration of Academy Award winning writer Stephen Gaghan. Walsh also investigates who is sleeping with the lead young actress who rejected him and threatens to shut down production. Through out the production Billy shows signs of incredible stress. Three days prior to shooting, Billy states that the ending needed to be changed and that he would write it. However he continues to procrastinate and then demands that Eric get Stephen Gaghan to fix it. While preparing notes for Gaghan, Billy proceeds to re-write the entire movie and sends Gaghan home with a check for $275,000.00 for just reading the revised script. Drama also seeks a part in the film and receives a small bit towards the end.

Trivia

  • Eric reads a book about producing called "Is That Something You Would Be Interested In?" by Bob Ryan. This was a phrase commonly spoken by Bob Ryan, played by Martin Landau, in the episode "I Wanna Be Sedated".
  • The book is, perhaps, evidence that Bob Ryan is finished in Hollywood. After notable people in Hollywood end their careers, they often write books about their lives to prevent themselves from fully disappearing in the eyes of lala-land celebrities.
  • This was the first episode with a teaser containing a scene before the beginning credits.

Music credits

  • "She Love's Everybody" by Chester French

Error

  • The narrator mentioned production for the movie started in September 2006. However on "The Resurrection", while Vince is courting Joe Roberts to produce Medillin he mentions they're in the year 2007.
