They are not mentioned among the original inhabitants of Canaan (Exodus 3:8; Joshua 3:10), and probably they inhabited some part of Arabia, in the confines of Syria.
Also, a designation given to Caleb (RSV, Numbers 32:12; A.V., Kenezite).
