I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
after the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! Katr67 23:16, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. In the future, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. Katr67 23:16, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Welcome
Welcome Tiptoety
Thank you for joining the Law Enforcement Wikiproject on the English Misplaced Pages! As you would have guessed we are a group dedicated to improving Misplaced Pages's coverage of topics related to law enforcement
Since you now are a member you get to have our userbox or banner on your userpage! To add these use:
- {{User WikiprojectPolice}} -- our userbox, or
- {{Lawenforcementmember}} -- our member banner.
Here are some more tips to get you started:
- Creating articles: See here for articles you can create, but dont forget to add ] to the base of the article and our project banner to the talk page of the article using {{Law enforcement}}
- Participate on our talk page: It is highly recommended that you watchlist it. There are also a number of small projects on the talk page as well that may be of interest to you!
- Check the bullentin board: For news and information, please read the bulletin board regularly or add it to you userpage using: {{Lawenforcementbulletinboard}}
- Improve an article: Click here to find all the really short articles, pick one from that list and improve it. When you are done go to the talk page of that article and removed {{Law enforcement| class=Stub}} the bit in bold and another editor will be along to see how well you have done and reassess the article to a much higher class.
All members are reminded:
- That this project aims for: No vandalism, no conflict and if particular articles in this project are suffering from vandalism, edit wars or talk-page abuse, please add it to the Article Watch List
In a nutshell:
- SGGH (Project Co-ordinator)
- Dep. Garcia ( Talk + | Help Desk | Complaints ) (Assistant Co-ordinator)
- Or any project co-ordinator listed on the main project page or members page.
Again, Thank you and Welcome

Hey Tiptoety, by the way you don't ned to add ~~~~ to your edit summaries, as your edits are automatically marked in the history as being yours, the ~~~~ tiles are just for when you are "posting" on talk pages like this one :) though it's awesome to see you summarizing your edits already! Keep up the good work, I'll see you around. SGGH 14:07, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've rewritten a little bit of the MCSO SAR article just to make sure there are no further copyright problems, and I'll step back now to let you carry on with your wikiwork! Just ask me or Kat if you need any help or have any questions, and I'll see you around the place. SGGH 19:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have done as you asked. To cite something, just take what you had placed in the notes section (the <nowiki<{{cite web...</nowiki> thing) and put it where in the text you want the foot note to be, enclosed in some ref tags: <ref>....</ref> like below:
- (with wiki markup removed)SGGH is a user on wikipedia<ref>Chucher p. 106</ref>
- Notes
- {{reflist}}
Would become (with markup enabled)
- SGGH is a user on wikipedia
- Notes
- Chucher p. 106
see? SGGH 21:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- PS, scroll through Mozambican War of Independence, an FA that I wrote, to see how to use inline cites, just click "edit this page" and look at how the coding works to make footnotes. SGGH 21:31, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
speedy delete templates
Thanks for your help in spotting speedy delete-able articles. I think you've been using the wrong template, though. To request a speedy deletion, use one of the templates at the bottom of this page. Joyous! | Talk 02:50, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
block templates
Hello. I saw you left this notice to a vandal informing him that he'd been blocked. Unless I'm mistaken, you are not an administrator on Misplaced Pages and therefore you cannot block a user. So it's generally a bad idea for you to leave such notices: for one thing they are deceptive since the user is not actually blocked and they confuse admins like myself who come to the talk page. I am grateful for your help in combating vandalism but please try to stay clear of these templates for now. If you spot a vandal not listening to warnings, then write a report on WP:AIV and an admin will handle it from there. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 03:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Another note (sorry, I'm just looking at your contributions!) In this edit you placed a level4 warning on the talk page for an anonymous user. Nothing wrong with that (although level 4 is definitely an overkill) but the edit you're refering to is three weeks old. Because IPs are not always static, it is meaningless to place that warning because it will most likely never be read or, worse yet, read by an editor who has nothing to do with the original offender. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 03:37, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask around (say at Misplaced Pages:Recent changes patrol) or check the contributions of an experienced vandal fighter to see how it's done. I saw that you also tag a lot of articles for speedy deletion. This is also a good idea but I'm afraid you have also tagged a few articles improperly, like Dorrie Nossiter. When in doubt, it's always a good idea to submit the article for deletion using {{afd1}}. It's also an easy way to avoid biting newbies (and many editors who are new to vandal-fighting tend to be a little too agressive). Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 04:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Red links
Hi, I saw you warning a user about red links. I didn't check to see to which red links you were referring, but I thought I would point out the relevant guideline on redlinks: Misplaced Pages:Red link. The gist of it is that not all red links are bad. Katr67 22:27, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Was about to give the same advice. I also notice that you put a few reports to Misplaced Pages:Abuse reports which should simply be mentioned at WP:AIV which will get much faster response. By the way, let me know when you get tired of the lecturing but since you seem to be dedicated to learning the ropes, I figured I can continue giving you advice from time to time. Do let me know when it gets annoying! Pascal.Tesson 23:05, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Travelodge UK
I have removed the speedy deletion notice from Talk:Travelodge UK as the template should appear on the article page, not on the talk page. (I don't think it meets the crteria you noted (patent nonsense), you might have more luck if you nominate it for blaent advertising/spam.)
Rex Goliath
Why does this article keep getting tagged as blatant advertising? I have read the guidelines and the links provided are verifiable secondary sources. I have no affiliation with Rex Goliath, I simply want to expand wikipedia's offerings of information about beverages.
wtf. Now its gone. Could i at least get my template back?
Thats fine, I'll send it back to the drawing board and try to gather more info. Thanks for your speedy response.
Great, if you have time I will run it by you for a quick review. Thanks again for your help.
List of law enforcement agencies in Oregon
A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article List of law enforcement agencies in Oregon, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. bDerrly 23:22, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Removed speedy-delete from Karim Kazeem
From WP:SPEEDY: "Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete."
You tagged it literally a minute after it was created. Before tagging sports personalities for non-notability, see if other members of the same team or league have articles. If almost all of them do, consider an AfD to delete all the relatively non-notable ones. It's more efficient and more fair than individual deletion actions. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:53, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Category:British health organisations
It is a category page, not an article, and I was deleting to let an administrator know it was ready to be deleted per WP:CFD/Working after moving everything in it to the category with the new name.Sdornan 04:57, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Deletion tags
Just use the same tag again, or use category g4 (previously deleted). Thanks, NawlinWiki 19:21, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
