I'm a little puzzled--why did you move the page into user space-- do you really think it has no assertion of importance.> that saying someone is a professor at UC Irvine isn't at least a claim to importance? I'd have appreciated it if you had left a message for me first. I'm not saying he's necessarily important, but that speedy requires merely an assertion. I see no reason to assume the article was necessarily created by the subject--it seems rather to be by a member of his family. We are obviously going to need to settle this by a community discussion, so please re-create and send to Afd. DGG 00:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

It seemed obvious to me and I disagree with you, but okay.-Wafulz 04:23, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

image help - licensing

would you be able to help me correctly upload an image, because something apparently went wrong with the way that i identified the license. i got it off a current website and there's not much more to say.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Theskinzfan (talkcontribs)

Images on Misplaced Pages are meant to be redistributed for free- images off of websites are almost always copyrighted, and they specifically prohibit free redistribution. Sometimes, you run in an article that absolutely needs an image, and no free image can be found- this is for stuff like corporate logos, posters, album covers, etc. In this case, you use a fair use tag along with fair use rationale. Note that this is only valid if it is absolutely impossible to recreate the image (ie, it is a photo of a dead person, or a photo of a historical event or something). In the case of Image:TheJunkies.jpg, there is probably no good fair use rationale for it, since the subjects are alive and it is possible to photograph them. The best images are those in the public domain, or those that you have created yourself.-Wafulz 03:30, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey there. What's your view on this guy? I think it's another sock of User:Hubier, whom you blocked along with his sock User:Jb007ltkill. I'm not sure though, because he hasn't edited a whole lot of articles related to James Bond or Vietnamese artists. The behavior of constant image vandalism is the same though, along with the obvious Bond reference in his name.--Atlan (talk) 13:46, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

the account I listed on AIV

Last edited in November. Not likely to edit anytime soon. I just happened to notice it because the IP was just blocked for a year and when I looked at the previous block history I saw a curious unblock request from an account that has never been used again. -N 19:50, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Hm. Well if the account hasn't done anything, then there's no real point in blocking it (we don't pre-emptively block, except with open proxies).-Wafulz 19:52, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

William McCarver

HI I noticed you deleted an article before it had a chance to assert itself. I agree it was a terrible article -written in a higgledy piggledy way that had every right to be deleted. However I did find sources to prove its legitimacy although "notability2 is questionable. I would have appreciated you waiting a bit while I tried to make it acceptable -this is why I added the hangon tag for a reason. You said something about Misplaced Pages is not a memorial. No it isn't but even then wikipedia still has a massive coverage of memorials!! List of areas in the National Park System of the United States#National memorials

♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ 14:27, 5 July 2007 (UTC) Your probably right - its just I beleived wikipedia was so developed in its coverage of the American civil war that many of the soldiers had articles. It required a lot of work!!! anyway and wasn't really worth it. Thanks anyway ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ 14:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

If you really want to argue semantics, then fine, Misplaced Pages is not the place for personal memorials. The author is pretty clearly using Misplaced Pages as a personal memorial: Charles P. McCarver was up for two weeks with {{importance}} and no improvements. Individual soldiers don't get ariticles- only those that held an influential rank or were historically significant.-Wafulz 14:33, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Orion's Belt Game

Hello. I've noticed that you marked Orion's Belt Game for notability. May I ask why? I've presented several links that support what I've written. Please help me to understand and improve the article. :)

Thank you for your time.

Sorry, it was almost out of habit- I've had to delete that article under different names because nobody ever bothered to assert notability until now.-Wafulz 15:09, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of article about Dhodia,

Dear Wafulz I appriciate your efforts for implementing copyright law in Misplaced Pages, But I still doubt, how one can delete description about a social community. Just for example, say... you have to write about "Americans" , now if some body says "George bush is president of US", or say " Red Indian lives in california" . This kind of statements doesnt violet any copyright. IF you see article about dhodia (Which you have deleted).. basically it is name of a tribal community within India which is loosing its identity day by day, and my efforts were to just make people aware about that community. I am still new for submitting article in wikipedia, but if you search scholar.google.com you can find few articles by me. It is being requested to advice me ...what to do? Shall I re write? Pls Respond Yatrik Yatrik 05:42, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

You can rewrite it, but it should be material that you have written. You can write about a social community, but you can't copy material that other people have written. Our copyright policy states: "copyright law governs the creative expression of ideas, not the ideas or information themselves". Using copyrighted material and redistributing it under our GFDL license is illegal and is deleted on sight.-Wafulz 14:06, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Got it, !! Agreed. Yatrik 12:06, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

Castor Cracking Group

I've added the {{prod}} tag to Castor Cracking Group because I don't feel it satisfies the notability criteria for groups. Since you're the creator, I'm notifying you.-Wafulz 02:33, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Tricky. There is very little printed information about demo groups, but being one of the first (or the first?) demo group on the ZX Spectrum they certainly are notable. // Liftarn

VINDICTIVE EDITING

WAFFLES STRIKES AGAIN !

It seems that you have wiped out a perfectly valid edit based on actual research (i went to one, not just affiliated with one) as well as spent some time yesterday 'tinkering' with my previous edits. Ergo, it seems likely that you have decided to single me out for daring to question your genius. "Grind your gears" as you put it. You appearance on sites I have added to to, as well as your need to leave your mark is not coincidence. Can you tell me the procedure to raise acomplaint against you, and my perceived abuse of authority ?

STEALTH RANGER 08:30, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Actually, if you take a look at the page's history, you'll see I've been monitoring it for weeks, and all I did was get rid of what I felt was needless detail and redundant links. I cleaned it up and provided what is (so far) its only reliable reference. If you want to "complain", you could try Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, although I guarantee no action will be taken since my edits are legitimate, and they did not involve the use of administrative tools.-Wafulz 16:13, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I'm a student of pure mathematics at UW- Misplaced Pages doesn't have a userbox for that, so I just used the generic one. You shouldn't be so condescending.-Wafulz 16:37, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I kinda find it amusing that the Ranger spends rather more time on edits of user and user talk pages than on edits of articles. And what's with THE SHOUTING. Sorry, didn't mean to yell. Anyway, I'm sure you've taken that into account. My humble opinion, for what it's worth. :) -Ebyabe 13:09, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I have edited Misplaced Pages as an annonymous user before deciding to get an account. I have removed the offending material from User:Janet1983's user page as it is in direct violation of the content guidelines on WP:USER. I informed her as such. Also, I reverted some edits she made which had the effect of promoting pseudoscience as science. I placed a warning on her talkpage. My hope is that she will get the picture and stop contravening the policies and guidelines of Misplaced Pages. --Mainstream astronomy 10:45, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

technocracy movement

I feel like I have brought up some things that need to be addressed, and have been met with a kind of stonewalling, or worse. Would it be possible for yourself and perhaps another admin editor to take more time, and look at some of the issues I have raised in connection to this article to be looked at? Siddhartha has made a statement that precludes my participation in the process. He says that the page cannot be altered. My only wish is that the article be objective.(skip sievert 16:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC))

It looks like you're just bringing up some arguments that have gone full circle over the last few months. Is this correct?-Wafulz 12:46, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

No, thats not correct. I am asking that another admin. editor or two, besides, or including you, be assigned this article, as you have said you are in to deep, and have taken sides obviously in your edits. You are personally involved with editing. I have said that the article is being controlled by a cabal. I have shown how that is happening. I have listed a number of areas that are down right misleading or wrong in the article. The most recent being the whole beginning of this article, which starts the whole thing off with wrong information. I have given information on how that is so. Also by phrasing your question the way you did, as a double negative, it is wondered why you would give a negative response ? You are not addressing the facts I have brought up such as why the TTCD is a stand alone separate link, when it has its own special box already linked on the Techinc site. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. Check what I had to say again. Please. (skip sievert 14:05, 12 July 2007 (UTC))

Corrs Chambers Westgarth

I'm on the National Marketing team for Corrs Chambers Westgarth and I'm trying to upload our profile on Misplaced Pages. I'm unsure as to why you have deleted our previous entry: 04:09, 3 April 2007 Wafulz (Talk | contribs) deleted "Corrs Chambers Westgarth" (WP:CSD#G11) As I didn't work on the entry myself, I'm unable to see the problem the article has caused.

I wish to be able to create another article on Corrs Chambers Westgarth in the same style as all the other law firms (please see Deacons, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Allen Overy for reference).

Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Yichen123 (talkcontribs)

Actually, four admins have deleted the article at various times for different reasons. The first time, it was deleted via proposed deletion with the complain "vanity posting of law firm that does not assert any notability. Worded in 1st person as advertising." The second deletion (mine) was a candidate for speedy deletion (CSD) because it was written in an unsalvageably promotional tone. The third administrator speedily deleted the content because it gave no context and did not assert meeting notability criteria for companies/organizations, and the fourth deleted it in order to prevent recreation.
The problem here is that since you are from the marketing team, you have a clear conflict of interest. You also seem a bit confused about the purpose of Misplaced Pages- it's an encyclopedia, not a database or list of company profiles.-Wafulz 02:18, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your response. However, there are still a few things I hope you can clear up for me.

I understand how Misplaced Pages is not a database for company profiles. However, there are pages where lists and categories of law firms are shown (Australia, US and UK). We are only following what other law firms have done and I don't see why we can't be listed in the category Law Firms of Australia.

Working for the firm puts me in a more knowledgeable position. I'm able to obtain the correct copyright permissions and information. I won't be making slanderous attacks on the firm or boasting about (I work in Marketing, there's really nothing for me to gain in talking up our company).

As I didn't write the previous article, I would be more than grateful if we had the chance to rewrite it in accordance to the guidelines. What would be the steps I need to take to reload the Corrs page?

Thanks for your help!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Yichen123 (talkcontribs)

I've unlocked it to allow recreation. I suggest you create it first in your userspace (at User:Yichen123/Corrs Chambers Westgarth) and then tell me when you're done- I'd like to look it over to make sure that it doesn't get immediately deleted again. Try to provide independent sources as well (news sources that don't come from the company, perhaps books written about it, etc).-Wafulz 13:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I have uploaded the page. Please make any suggestions.

Thanks for your help!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Yichen123 (talkcontribs)

I've taken a look, and I had to do some work.
  1. Lists of contacts are never included in any type of article, so I've removed them
  2. I had to remove a lot of promotional terms like "leading", "fastest-growing", "thriving", "prestigious" etc. I worked in a marketing department when I started editing on Misplaced Pages, so I know it can be tough to suddenly switch the way you write. These types of terms are inherently biased, so per policy and guideline, I've removed them.
  3. I removed the links to each section of the website. The website should at most be linked twice- once for the infobox at the top, and once for the "External links" section at the bottom
  4. I rearranged the article. On Misplaced Pages, articles on companies are supposed to start off with the history section, and then they describe what the company does. In general, articles are supposed to give history, context/importance, and then awards, in that order- this is for every type of article, from biographies on athletes to descriptions of zoos.
  5. I provided inline citations to help clean up the article a bit.
As it stands, the article seems to provide enough externally verifiable notability and is written in a non-promotional tone. If you'd like, I can move it into the article space and make it an official article.--Wafulz 01:15, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your assistance, much appreciated! I will give come back to you on Monday or Tuesday to make it an official article. I think we might include a 'Pro bono' heading where we will list some of the charities we work with, including links to their wikipage.

Will keep you posted. Thanks heaps again! :)

hi, i dont beleive the aldborough hatch fc page deserved to be deleted. it did not contain any advertising and was written from a nuetral perspective. please could you restore it. if not could you tell me what was wrong with it? why was it deleted???

It wasn't deleted because of advertising or neutrality issues. It was deleted because it didn't assert meeting notability criteria for organizations and because it didn't provide independent reliable sources.-Wafulz 13:25, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

== Your input is requested

I've recently put a lot of work into improving the article Night of the Long Knives. I put it up for peer review, but haven't seen any comments yet. Xezbeth

I asked for admin because the guy keeps reverting things on rules that I never heard of and which had no justification to revert. The guy seems to just have a problem with me because he has gone to a few pages of mine and has a history of acting in ways that upset other editors if you look at his talk page. NobutoraTakeda 14:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Well my point is you should speak to the editor yourself before trying to get admin attention. It's still below the three revert rule, no incivility, no attempts made at communication- ie, nothing that requires an administrator's attention. You should also wait for the outcome of the AfD discussion.-Wafulz 14:42, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
People edit pages all the time to improve them during an AfD so they don't get deleted. I can point out examples if you want. NobutoraTakeda 16:34, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
No, I've already seen hundreds of such discussions and participated in a fair amount myself. Regardless, you should speak to the editor first before asking for admin intervention.-Wafulz 16:36, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I tried, no response, got instead him going to other pages I've made comments on and have him criticize. I only ask for admin help to put the information that was cited from third party sources about the history of the page back in because he wont accept it from me. NobutoraTakeda 16:43, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
I'm already involved in a few disputes/mediations, so I don't want to jump into another one, particularly since I'm at a busy point of the season. I say just let the AfD and the thread on WP:ANI run their courses for now.-Wafulz 17:03, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

EasyLink Services

Wafulz

I appreciate your taking the time to edit content. You deleted my entry today on EasyLink Services. An entry which was modeled on another entry, J2 Communications. I am curious how I an alter the entry I made so it can be appropriately posted as J2 Communications is.

Thank you for you assistance.

Nick Valente nick51

The Easylink page didn't mention why the company was notable according to the notability criteria for companies. The article for J2 Global Communications mentioned that it was ranked by CNNMoney, which asserts notability. Basically, you need some independent reliable sources about the company in order to prove that there has been significant third-party coverage.-Wafulz 15:43, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Technology in 'Saga of Seven Suns'

Hello,

I have just come online to fill in an article i had created this lunchtime but did not have time to finish, entitled; "Technology in 'saga of seven suns'", i had created a wiki standard layout for the article, and was going to fill it in now. i would like you to put it back how you found it immediately please, so i can continue to fill it in, as i do not have time to remake it from scratch, in fact i have wasted more time than i would have liked to just working out where it went and then writing this message. you obviously can't give my time back so putting the article back and researching and filling it in yourself would be most sufficient. thankyou

AvatarIII

Long lunch eh. In the future, don't create empty articles and leave them lying around for five hours, and then you won't have to "waste your time". Also, read up on our fancruft guideline. Given its content, there's a chance that this article will be deleted or severely shortened and then merged somewhere else.-Wafulz 16:27, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Thankyou, i do not mind if it is merged somewhere else later, i just wanted the opportunity to get some more information on that particular universe put down in wiki.

Socialdemocrats

Please unprotect his talkpage and leave him alone. He clearly is not a vandal, the July 6 block was unwarranted, and the endless reversions to his talkpage accomplish nothing. I wish to speak with him and your page protection prevents that. Perspicacite 20:47, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I've unlocked it, but in my defense he repeatedly replaced his talk page with "cancel my account and kick me out".-Wafulz 23:07, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Perspicacite I think you should read his/her edit history more carefully. Some of his edits are vandalism, most of the rest are just edit wars that he/she runs continually. On his Vandalism, please check what he did over the John Major image that was uploaded by another user. The image was found to have copyright problems so that same user replaced it with an image that was free from problems. Over the next week Socialdemocrats continually replaced the old image until it was removed for violation when the time had run out. Socialdemocrats has done this on several other occasions. The rest of the edits are continious edit wars with other users, which are general spiced with abusive language. All I can say is good luck trying to talk with Socialdemocrats. The rest of us have tried and got no-where... Galloglass 23:27, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for unblocking the talkpage. I can understand why you would protect the page and I understand why people have lost patience with him but I wish for him to get another chance. Perspicacite 00:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

User: A Shakespeare...

...is a clone or an alter ego or something like that, of the banned user Sarah Goldberg. Baseball Bugs 21:55, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I'm looking into it.-Wafulz 22:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
The whole Sarah Goldberg thing was pretty bizarre. That user was originally called Catherine Woods, or something like that, and both pages were obsessed with crime scene photos. The only reason I know about that user is that it came to the defense of Tecmobowl after he was banned, and stirred the pot considerably before also being banned. So Catherine/Sarah/etc. seems to be making a comeback. I know this all sounds weird and hard to explain, because it is. There's just something really weird about that user's writings. I had some interchange with Irishguy about that user, as he seemed familiar with the case. Baseball Bugs 22:12, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
If you deleted User: A. Shakespeare you may as well delete User:Sarah Goldberg since the same content is in the history there. Ichibani uc 00:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Note, if you will, how A. Shakespeare tried to reinstate the content on its previously banned and deleted user Sarah Goldberg: Baseball Bugs 01:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
It's no secret that it's the same user. User_talk:Sarah Goldberg indicates a block for bad a username, not a user ban. Ichibani uc 03:02, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand the practical difference between the two. If they can't edit, they can't edit. Baseball Bugs 03:42, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
From what I hear, this user wasn't actually the person being profiled. This user told me via e-mail that they used it because it would be easy to view from wikipedia and not have to go to myspace, where she had an account that was recently cancelled or deleted. He says that if he played a role in the removal of the account that he apologizes. Here's the apology he e-mailed me:

I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE IF I HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH HER CANCELLING HER ACCOUNT OR THEM DELETING IT! THE PAGE HERE WAS MEANT TO BE AN EASIER RESOURCE, NOT MEANT TO MAKE ANYBODY WORRY ABOUT BEING STALKED! IF THAT WAS THE CASE, I APOLOGIZE FOR MAKING PEOPLE WORRY. I WILL NOT DO THAT AGAIN NOW AS A PRECAUTION. AGAIN SORRY :(

It appears you can block or ban the account since it has no good purpose. It was meant, by him , to be something to look at, not to profile or stalk. So that's all I can put in. NBAonNBC 11:48, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Randy Afd

Hello, I wish to debate your closing of the Afd on here Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Randy (Trailer Park Boys character) (2nd nomination). The result of the AfD was not to merge, it was no consensus. As an administrator, you cannot unilaterally decide if an article should be redirected or not when there is no consensus to do so. -- Earl Andrew - talk 19:12, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to list it at Misplaced Pages:Deletion review then.-Wafulz 19:25, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Could you open it up? I'm not used to deletion review, since usually articles I fight to keep aren't unilaterally deleted by what appears from vantage point as "rogue adminship". -- Earl Andrew - talk 20:23, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Why? The instructions are pretty clear, and all you've given me to work with is a thinly-veiled insult.-Wafulz 22:32, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

I struck one of your comments on AN/I

The term "Nordic Crusader", while possibly racist as it was used by the User:Nordic Crusader is not specifically racist to be associated with Aryan ideologies. See the term here.. Your block was perfectly legit and I don't think you meant any harm so I simply struck the comments. If you think they are necessary, you can restore them but you may want to further explain them as pertaining only to this particular editor. --Tbeatty 09:05, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't believe the term (or any term really) is ideological in general, but in this context, it seemed to serve a particular purpose. I'll leave the comment struck though.-Wafulz 12:23, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Afd for Fran Mérida

Um, sorry to bother you, but how is Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/Fran_Mérida "controversial"? --Boricuaeddie 16:42, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

And where does it say "non-administrators may not close controversial AfDs"? --Boricuaeddie 16:46, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Controversial means the outcome is unclear. There is still a chance this could be deleted depending on the interpretation of an admin familiar with the topic. Non-admin closures are usually left for speedy keep or similar decisions.-Wafulz 20:24, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Question About Three Articles

I was just browsing around and noticed these three album pages done by an artist. The artist's article was apparently deleted after an expired prod. A vs an

Thanks for pointing out that link. Although, isn't the 'h' in 'homage' normally pronounced and non-silent? --Android Mouse 02:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

In proper English, the "h" is silent. However, in casual use, some people (incorrectly) pronounce it, which is where a lot of confusion comes from.-Wafulz 12:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Interesting, didn't know that. --Android Mouse 20:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

You guys have 24 hours to assert some form of musical notability. I appreciate you helping another user, but articles like Roscoe Umali are very likely to be deleted. It's usually better to inform the new user about notability and sourcing guidelines and verification policy than it is to encourage creation of work that will eventually be deleted.-Wafulz 17:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Spamming

Sorry about the spamming. I didn't know that's what I was doing. Now that I've read over the guidelines more thoroughly, I see the problem. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Jim (jimnyc62)

External Links question

Is it possible to leave my website (www.settling-the-score.com) as an external link for reviews under the general heading of "Film Music"? Want to make sure I do the right thing this time. Thanks, Jim (jimnyc62)

To be honest none of those links should be there (Misplaced Pages is not a directory). I would recommend asking over at Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Films if there is some place your site can be listed as a "resource".-Wafulz 18:38, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

My monobook?

Which one, the Ispy or my new one?--Sethacus 19:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I see what happened. There's a line in one of the scripts, basically flagging it for speedy. I've copied/pasted my old Ispy monobook to the Sethacus. Hopefully, that solves things. I didn't even see a CSD tag on it.--Sethacus 19:32, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleted link from SH-60 Seahawk

You recently deleted the link for US Helicopter Armament Subsystems from the SH-60 Seahawk article. What was the reason for this? It seems a reasonable link as some of the systems can be applied to the Naval H60. Nigel Ish 18:22, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Helicopters in popular culture

Greetings, Recently this article was deleted. I was curious as to where I can find an archive copy of this article. As it may or may not qualify itself as an article ( that discussion was held earlier) some of that trivia seems to me would be fine in the articles for the aircraft. Thoughts? --Trashbag 19:14, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Tom Baker (writer)

As you say you delete up to 200 articles so you're obviously busy but I would ask you to take another look at this article which you recently deleted. It was sourced and did carry information unavailable elsewhere on Misplaced Pages (his participation in a recent documentary). He wrote two major British horror films and there was a range of opinions at the AfD debate. Nick mallory 00:22, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, there were still not nearly enough reliable sources, especially for a biography of a living person. If you'd like to recreate it, you can, but it'll need much better sourcing. In other words, you'll need more than just an IMDB link and a sentence about what he's been involved in- we need multiple sources that are about him, his life, and his work.-Wafulz 00:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Rusty Nails (filmmaker)

As a user who has edited the Rusty Nails (filmmaker) article, please read this and help me. You can continue the conversation on my talk page.

This is a place for the discussion of the article Rusty Nails (filmmaker) until the issues regarding it are resolved or the article is deleted. I am inviting any and all wikipedia users to state their opinion in this case. Here's my side of the story:

  • I created the article at the request of the filmmaker. He was happy with the article. Then other users decided to vandalize the article adding faulty information. The article also attempted to reference IMDB, which itself has wrong information concerning the director. The filmmaker's request is to have the article deleted. I recommended the article for deletion and the article was deleted. Then vandals undeleted the article and added more wrong information. If anyone can assist with this issue please do. I'd like to see the article deleted permanently or written according to information supplied by the filmmaker himself. Either way it may be necessary to lock the article so it can't be altered continually as it has been. Xsxex 00:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
  • I'm not claiming ownership.. I am merely calling into question the existence of an article which I started... which has become rife with misinformation. The article was deleted and then brought by the user "Lisa55k" (who also doesn't maintain an active user page, nor will respond to my attempts at communication. As I said in the opening statement, the first priority would be to deleted the article entirely and somehow lock it so it can't be re-created. If this is not possible than I am letting everyone know that any information on the article is most likely false. Xsxex 18:57, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
  • So where do you want this conversation? You've messaged about a dozen users telling them to reply on your talk page, so having it here would be pretty disjointed.-Wafulz 19:00, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Amelia Earhart

Sorry for the brusque response. I will write back in more detail but these pop culture references have been the source of a great deal of attention and revising. I will re-look at it in the near future but rest assured, the area has been very strenuously addressed by at least three editors who have contributed the bulk of this article. Many, many entries in this pop culture section have already been removed. FWIW Bzuk 13:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC).

Feedback on your deletion

Wafulz,

I have no problem with your deletion of the Science Chat Forum page for the reasons you've mentioned, but I do have one question. Why the double standards? There are pages out there that are identical in nature by those particular standards, and they have been around for several years now (which is what prompted me to write up that page in the first place).

BioWizard 19:50, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, have you ever caught every fish in the pond? I delete the articles as I run into them- if there are identical situations, then they should be examined as well. You can read through the notability guideline for web content. Articles that do not assert that they meet the criteria can be deleted via speedy deletion, while articles that assert notability but may not actually meet the guideline can be deleted via proposed deletion or articles for deletion.-Wafulz 20:34, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Username

I have read the pages you linked. Since my username translates to "item", I have redirected that user and talk page to mine and changed my signature to link to it. There has been an account registered under that username, but that person only made two edits in December of 2005 and they never had a user or talk page. Is this an acceptable solution? 03:44, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah that looks good- I don't think that person will be coming back.-Wafulz 12:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleted article on Priroda, A DFT Code by Dr. Laikov

Dear Wafulz,

You seem to have deleted an article on the Priroda code, referred from "Density Functional Theory" page. The reason sayd was "blatant advertisement". I assure you that 1) I'm not affiliated with the code developer in any way and 2) the code is not commercial (while copirighted, It distributed freely among academic users) and 3) technical superiority of the code about which my article was written is a hard fact.

So could you please restore my article? If it doesnt match any formal criteria, I would be glad to fix it.

-- Best regards, Dr. Shamov

You should probably rewrite it in a more neutral tone in your userspace at User:Gas5x1/Priroda. If the code is actually technically superior and as popular as you assert it is, you should be able to find independent reliable sources that say so. Also, the article title should be something simple, like "Priroda (code)" - nobody is going to search for "Priroda (fast relativistic RI-DFT program by Dr. D.N. Laikov)"-Wafulz 12:33, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Slam Poetry

Hi Wafulz - You left a weasel words tag on Slam Poetry a while back. I've gone through and narrowed down the entire article fairly severely. I'm wondering if you'd swing by and see if we can get rid of the tag now. All the best, ProfJeFF 16:59, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Stargate Horizon

Hi. I put a "hangup" on Stargate Horizon and had left a msg on the Stargate project to see if they thought the article would meet WP criteria. So, couldn't you leave the article up a bit longer? (Granted, I know nothing about fan fiction, just trying to help a newbie who created it. Seemed reasonable to me.) Thanks. HG | Talk 17:21, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I understand your good intentions, but it pretty clearly doesn't meet Misplaced Pages criteria for web content notability or verification standards. I'll leave it up for another few hours, but I don't want to give the new user the impression that everything belongs here.-Wafulz 17:55, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for your responsiveness. Take care. HG | Talk 18:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Molly McKay

If the article Molly McKay should be taken to afd, should the other article the person made: Davina Kotulski be undeleted and put up for afd as well? Just checking. -WarthogDemon 19:12, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I'll check with the deleting admin.-Wafulz 19:17, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
I'll wait until the deleting admin replies to you, in case it'd be best to put both these articles in one AfD. -WarthogDemon 19:19, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Both done. I decided to afd them separately if that's okay. Thanks. :) -WarthogDemon 19:51, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
