User:Danko Georgiev MD
Dear Nihonjoe, Thank you for your help. Despite your messages on my talk page, the above user is still quizzing me about my identity, even after I have told him that, if he wants to confirm my professional status, he may look on my first talk archive, where CH verified my status through a private email interchange. I do not understand what information he wants beyond my professional status. Many thanks, Mathsci 14:27, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would just ignore him. If he keeps harassing you about it, bring it up on the Admin's noticeboard. That will likely get the quickest response. ···日本穣 00:13, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Midori (author)
Nihonjoe, please drop me a line here and I'll put you in touch with her. Thanks a lot for your help. Videmus Omnia 04:27, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you can just post here and point me to a page (or have her point me to a page) that has the kanji, that will work. Perhaps a Japanese news article or something. ···日本穣 05:40, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Catweazle (wrestler)
Hi Nihonjoe - would you please reconsider your decision to delete this page. Catweazle was one of the most popular professional wrestlers in Britain during the 1980s. As an example of this, here is the link to a 'best of' DVD featuring Catweazle (top centre) from Amazon.co.uk
Many thanks and best wishes. My appologies if this is not the correct page to post this comment on. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.37.238.30 (talk • contribs).
- If you think there is enough in the way of reliable sources in order to verify this wrestler's notability, feel free to bring it up on deletion review. I've corrected the link above to the deleted article. Appearing on the cover of a a DVD with 4-5 other wrestlers is not enough to establish notability. ···日本穣 22:45, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Grave of the Fireflies
Hi Nihonjoe.. I see ya working on "Grave." I've been wanting to work on that article for a long time but will be too busy for at least one maybe two months... but thanks for working on it... later! Ling.Nut 03:10, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Am I repulsive?
Hi, Nihonjoe. I'm preparing to approach some Japanese actresses/models and companies (mostly in the field of adult entertainment) for free-user images, and have been using User:Videmus Omnia/Requesting free content for advice. He mentions the need for a professional-looking user page, and it's got me to wondering... When I first chose my editing name, I thought contributing here at Misplaced Pages would be a one-time fluke. As my editing has become more and more extensive, the rather childishly vulgar name I chose at first has begun to eat at my conscience. As a Japanese-speaker, do you find my name sufficiently repulsive to be a hindrance in asking for donations from the subjects and companies? Do you think it would behoove me to change my editing name? Or am I not nearly as offensive as I'd hoped to be at first?... Any advice on the matter will be very much appreciated. Dekkappai 23:57, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Given that you're contacting people in the adult entertainment arena, you shouldn't have to worry about your username offending people. If it idoes, it will, but I don't think it will (generally speaking). ···日本穣 00:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- OK, Thanks! I'll forge ahead with one less doubt now. Dekkappai 00:03, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Ganesha
We are thinking about moving Ganesha toward FAC, and if you have the time to give it a lookover with regard to image use I would appreciate it very much. I can guarantee that any suggestions you may have on that one will be considered carefully. Buddhipriya 01:13, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- The only image that seemed out of place was the one in the References section. It may be good to find a good place within the body of the article for that one. Other than that, the only suggestion I have is choosing one spelling of Shiva/Śiva and using that one consistently rather than alternating between the two. Alternating will likely confuse some who may think they are two different individuals rather than two spellings/romanizations of the same. ···日本穣 02:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I am going to copy your remarks to the talk section for the article and will get on it in the next couple of days. Buddhipriya 05:52, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Glad I could help. (^_^) ···日本穣 06:18, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- The picture has been moved, but the issue of normalizing spelling of Shiva is perhaps difficult. I think the inconsistencies you noticed may have been due to variations in how the name is spelled in quotations and citations. If so, we can't normalize them. Any suggestions on this point? Buddhipriya 04:29, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Not all of them are in quotations and citations, and those are the ones that should be changed. Perhaps add a note to the first alternate spellings indicating they are the same, or link each spelling at least once to the article on Shiva. ···日本穣 04:49, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think I have cleaned out all the "Śiva" instances in article text (standardizing on "Shiva") that are not in quotes or book titles, etc. If you spot ones I have missed or want to illustrate a different way to deal with this variation, feel free to edit the article yourself so I can see clearly what you may have in mind. Thanks for the help! Buddhipriya 05:32, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Hikino
I found a few more books, and added them--included 2 that have been translated in Chinese and 1 into Spanish! I think the article has been fixed up enough, but some actual published tributes to his work or articles about him wouldn't hurt, if you know of any. DGG (talk) 06:38, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'll have to wait until tomorrow as I need to go to sleep now so I'm not dead for work tomorrow. I'll see what I can do then. ···日本穣 06:44, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Suzuka
I'm wondering if you would be interested in helping get the Suzuka (manga) article up to GA rating. Most of the major editing is done, but any suggestions or help to improve it further would be appreciated. (Duane543 02:25, 27 July 2007 (UTC))
- There doesn't seem to be any discussion over there at all. At first glance, the article seems to be pretty decent. ···日本穣 02:46, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well I recently archived the talk page and also the most of editing was done in my sandbox and then moved to the regular article. Even though the article has a fair number of references, most come from online. I think would be better if it had few more notable publications. In the Magazine Archive of the WP:MANGA, it shows that there is a article about Suzuka in the Newtype USA Magazine (May 2007, Volume 6 Number 5) which I think you have. Also Japanese references would be nice, but my problem is that I can only read Japanese with the help of a software translator, so it limits what I can find. (Duane543 16:22, 27 July 2007 (UTC))
Possible concerns with AfD discussions and flaming
Although I'm sure your intentions with the GameTZ.com article are in good faith, please remember that resorting to personal attacks is by no means an appropriate way to resolve an AfD dispute. Thanks. 209.85.29.6 02:04, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- My comments there are not a personal attack, but derision for the blatant WP:POINT and WP:DE violations caused by the repeated nominations. The article clearly meets WP:N and WP:V, and this has been determined more than once. This anonymous crap needs to stop, too. ···日本穣 02:11, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Anonymous is legion. 204.15.130.82 02:17, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Attack by SPA socks
Seicer and myself have also encountered this issue. I filed a SSP report here, because I wasn't really sure what else to do about it. -Chunky Rice 03:26, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Need your advise
Hello! I hope you are feeling great. I have added more comments to this page Your views about this would be needed here. --Siva1979 03:47, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Closed the discussion
Hello! I hope you are feeling great. I have just closed the discussion with regards to this page. I guess consensus was clear here and a common agreement was reached. --Siva1979 07:25, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good. ···日本穣 07:27, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Blood type
Hi, Nihonjoe. I noticed a comment you made at an AfD discussion that you remove blood types when you see them. (I, on the other hand, put them in when I see them blank...) I am not strongly attached to the field-- its removal wouldn't bother me much-- but I do feel that if it's there, it cries out to be filled. This field regularly comes up for discussion at Template talk:Female adult bio. At these discussions, I have argued for keeping it since my main editing activity is in the Japanese area, and, since it's a piece of information that is nearly always included in the profiles, it seems to be important to the Japanese media. Also, I know from personal research that this piece of information has been included in such profiles for several decades, so it is not just a passing fad. Anyway, if you have a good reason for removing the field, you might want to chime in at the latest discussion. Regards. Dekkappai 19:18, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've made a comment there, though not specifically on this topic. ···日本穣 00:48, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
A little input
I've been working with Fractyl for a while, and you recently popped in to help me with some Japanese related assistance, so I'm wondering if you could look over my response to him here, and give me some input on whether or not I should change my criteria.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:15, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'll have to think on it for a bit. I'm not really sure what I could add other than "See WP:MOS-JA, which covers what you're discussing." ···日本穣 06:41, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, whatever input you can give me would be great. Also, I need help with the translations that had been developed for geki (激) and rin (臨) for the particular series that the discussion is currently about. I'm not sure if "Fierce" and "Confrontation" (respectively) are correct.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 10:01, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- 激 can be translated as "ultra", "violent", "fierce", "enraged", and similarly. What is the context? 臨 can be translated "confront", "face" (as in "to face someone" or "to face up to someone"). Context will help determine the best translation. ···日本穣 00:29, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- They're the fictional martial arts styles in Gekiranger. I have them as Fierce Beast-Fist and Confrontation Beast-Fist. Those articles will show you all context there would be.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 03:33, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Cut-and-paste moves
Whoops. When I found out that I couldn't move them via the move log, I tried to move them to cut-and-paste. Sorry about that. :) Thanks for your comments. All the best. Greg Jones II 00:23, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- If you need help moving an article properly when the name you want is already taken, feel free to ask me and I'll be glad to help. It will save a lot of hassle in the long run to do it correctly the first time. Thanks! ···日本穣 00:25, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I am considering a move from Showtaro Morikubo to Shōtarō Morikubo per MOS-JA. Greg Jones II 01:32, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Wikistalking reverting
Hi, Joe. User:PHG has been reverting all edits I've made to articles to make them consistent using BC/AD, just because we've had a dispute over whether to use BC/AD or BCE/CE. I can understand if he doesn't accept my arguments to revert usage to an earlier version, but where they were inconsistent and I made them so (whilst using the earliest non-stub as a guide) he should accept the fact I got there to rectify those problems. He is violated WP:MOS by insisting BC/AD cannot be used on "non-Christian" articles when the guidelines do not limit its use that way. John Smith's 11:58, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
