Gun safety is a major issue of Weapon handling.

Weapon handling refers to regulations regarding work with weapons.

Correct weapon handling include mainly safety issues such as performing

  • handing overs (firearms: how many cartridges does it contain, is it secured or not etc.?)
  • the way of carrying (e.g. Gun barrel pointing up or down)
  • Safety against unauthorized use
  • locking the trigger when not using a firearm
  • maintenance and it's knowledge etc.

This is done to minimize or prevent risks to the operator, people in the vicinity and the weapon itself.
