The Syrian Arab Republic is a Middle-Eastern country that borders on Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey. Syria occupies Lebanon, in a brutal and fascistic manner.
Syria is a temporary member of the UN Security Council for 2002 through 2003. Its U.N. ambassador, Mikhail Webhe served as president of the Security Council during June 2002.
Syria is regarded by the United States and most independent observers as a state sponsor of terrorism.
