It is located about 4 km north-west of the capital-city Bridgetown along the west coast of Barbados.
University of the West Indies campus
The name Cave Hill, St. Michael is synonymous as one of the three main campuses of the University of the West Indies (UWI) which is situated there. The university was established at Cave Hill, St. Michael in 1963, and occupies roughly 50 acres of land.

Total annual enrollment at this campus is usually just over 3 200 students.
