This is an Australian invention, that is not yet in commercial production of electricity. However, the harnessing of the power in our ever moving sea water ahs been described as the holy grail of electricty production. CETO, utilises a single piston pump attached to the sea floor, with a float tethered to the piston. Waves cause the floeat to rise and fall, generating pressurised water, which is piped to an onshore facility which can either gererate electricity or purify water using the high pressure sea water.
